I think he’s saying that United has the worst pilots.
Well lucky for us we’re a DELTA fam now
Lol I couldn’t remember who she was flying for now
had a red eye, then needed to kill like half a day in a lounge... then had a 8 AM flight on Sunday, snagged breakfast in the lounge right beforehand. No delays or issues at any point for my United flights. Not troubled for hanging around the lounge too long. Hall of fame weekend for United
She accepted the United gig but received a Delta offer here a couple weeks ago
I feel like a pilot wife would necessarily be a smokin' hot wife.
I’m a lucky feller. She’s wicked smaaat too. Working on a space science masters and who knows after that. Outkicked my coverage and she’s 9 years my junior. It’s awful from time to time, especially when she was working charter but we pushed through. Airlines will be a lot more accommodating for the fam.
It’s true. She’s way hotter and smarter than he deserves
I saw a female pilot at DIA this weekend. The pilot work pants really accentuated a tremendous bum. two thumbs up.
without objectifying women any further, happy to see more female pilots. not enough, I am sure, but it should be a profession with a more even split.
When my wife started it was something like 90% men/chud ratio. The private/charter business is probably higher. Airlines have been putting in a ton of work to rectify that. Several women in my wife’s Delta class and selves seeing more woman and POCs getting chances errday.
Are you living in base?
We’ll see. We’re in MN, which is a senior base so likelihood of assignments are limited. More likely she’ll be base off the east or west coasts. She has a high SSN, which assignments during inboarding are based off (higher=more senior) so if there’s an opening she’ll have a good chance here. She’s prefer to stay on a 73 out of MSP. Chance of a big bodied plane are greater on the coasts and pay is commensurate. Draw is closer to home first, opportunity for a bigger plane and pay next.
Move to Hawaii, have her fly out of SFO. Retire and take care of the rugrat.
Yeah, priority #1 should always be to be closer to home. I have friends who commute and it wears on you pretty quick.
One day…. Wears on a guy being far from home with a full time, stressful gig and no help with a 15mo.
We’re into year 5 and can confirm. Get used to it but it’s not easy. Luckily my wife is a fucking champ and we trust each other. Had a friend tell me congrats on the AIDS when we got engaged (aviation induced divorce). I laughed.
Honestly we’re lucky to be supportive of each others endeavors. She’s a beast when she sets her mind to shit. When she does, it’s over. She’s relentless and I adore that. I’m waaaaay relaxed and have never had that drive so it works.
A FEMALE PILOT?!? What’s next, equal pay for equal work?!? Not in my America!
My condolences, sounds as though she upgraded in her professional life and it’s only a matter of time before she upgrades in her personal life as well.
edit, looks like it was a pretty solid storm.
Anyone following the frontier drama???
Apparently gate agents got a commission for each bag they made people pay. It's essentially the reason we've seen all these social media post of Gate Agents forcing ppl to pay $99 for a bag that clearly fits.
Honestly this needs to be investigated by someone and they need a massive fine over it
I mean, opening that door can't be easy..right?
the door opens outward and at 700’ there is little to no pressure differential so I’d imagine it wouldn’t be that hard.
This man should have been dragged onto the tarmac and beaten within an inch of his life.
Update on popcorn pitcher
I'm stuck in Atlanta for the next 5 hours what do I do?
Go in a bathroom stall, slide your foot under the partition and tap your foot.
The rest takes care of itself
I'm starting with a beer. Maybe I end up here.
Got on some good shoes??
It's all overly expensive like all major airports, but there's some decent bars in the terminals.
If you don’t have access, pay the $50 or whatever to get into a lounge and it’s “free” drinks. Get wasted
Go to One Flew South
Anyone done Lufthansa business? Booked on Polaris back from Germany, but there's a Lufthansa flight that fits our schedule a little better that's the same price. Just didn't know how much of a drop off, if any, there was in the product.
I did on points a few years back. Cool part, we were in the upper deck of a 747. Downside, it was not a retrofitted one, so it was the old school style where we had two seats next to each other, no dividers, all that kind of stuff. Great service though. I’d do it again if it were an updated aircraft
Same deal here. Old school 747 with the 2-2 config. I guess I’ll stick w the Polaris.
I’m in the middle of a human rights crisis at the beautiful Shreveport, LA airport
Power off in half the city, airport is complete chaos. Tiny airport with hundreds of people in slow moving line (only 1)
thank god I have pre check but will still prolly take a lot longer than it should
I’ve never been in this airport, I pray their shitty bar sells beer. Also ac isn’t really working and it smells
My uncle works TSA there, sorry if you have to deal with him.
Finally next in line and like 2 groups of pilots and crews show up. Also road to airport was blocked off and in front of cops people were mowing traffic cones down full speed. Louisiana folks are crazy af
View of non pre check line and it starts on a different floor
your uncle didn’t find my highly illegal weed drugs
If I liked you in the slightest I'd fly down there and pick you up. But it'd take me 4 and a half hours to get there and you probably wouldn't cover my gas.
No air conditioning but holy smokes folks beers are only $6
might be the best airport I’ve ever had the pleasure of using
He complains when they put fake images up on the scanners to test if they’re even looking for stuff.
TSA won't look for drugs fwiw. It's actually their policy to not punish/report drugs
Got an alert to arrive 3 hours early bc of power outages so I did
took less than 30 minutes to get in
It’s hot af and I’m drinking Luke warm beer
I know, only time I don’t carry vape pen is when going out of country. Almost did last year to Costa Rica but chickened out
