Always felt like he was an Illinois lock bc word was his Dad and Chin Coleman are close. But I started paying attention once Wake went in another direction for their final Guard spot, seemed as if staff opted to wait it out for Ayo. Kid has done a good job feigning WFU interest on his social media of late. Just retweeted a Chris paul tweet from 16 months ago. Logic still suggests the kid still picks Illinois, otherwise why make that OV if the pick was going to be WF.
Dosunmu on the verge Five-star point guard Ayo Dosunmu is now on the verge of making his commitment known. Dosunmu, who is down to Illinois and Wake Forest, will announce on Thursday. At this point all indications are that Dosunmu will elect to stay close to home and play for the Illini. Dosunmu has been the major priority for Brad Underwood and his staff since getting the job in Champaign, and they did an excellent job of hosting him for a visit this past weekend. This would be a big get for Illinois, as it is the top in-state player staying home, and one from Chicago doing it, which has been rare over the past decade. Wake Forest remains a possibility, but at this point it is looking like Dosunmu will be suiting up for the Orange and Blue in the Big Ten.
I know the Illinois Rivals guy is fairly confident on Ayo but he's been wrong before. Illinois desperately needs him.
Finally landed a top player from Chicago. Hopefully this opens up some doors for other '18 recruits who were too pussy to commit before someone else did.
Getting THT this weekend would be awesome. Rumor is Okoro is an Illini lean in 2019 Need to find a big in the spring
I think there's about a 50/50 chance of it. My guess is if THT wants to commit they take it and then try to smooth it over with Ayo's people. Reading between the lines this is all about Ayo's dad. Seems like dad needs to grow up.
Also Brad has essentially said THT is picking Illinois. Said if he doesn't then you'll know what happened.
From at least what Brad has been saying he thinks things have been smoothed over which is what I always thought would happen. Short of THT's dad fucking Ayo's mom, I'm not sure there's any quibble that couldn't be forgiven. Especially after Ayo had that whole big announcement ceremony.
Rumor is the staff was told to make choice by Ayo’s camp and the Irvin’s. Looks like they picked Ayo and the Irvin’s.
That's true... hope that happens And yea. I wish we could have said fuck you to the Irvins, but I think it would have hurt us so much more
If the Irvin’s are going to start sending their top players to Illinois I hope we do whatever the fuck they want
Really hope we smack DePaul tonight. I'm worried we're going to dump a game or two to one of these shitty teams in the non-conference and its going to end up costing us a tournament bid.
I was amazed that there was 16 1/2 left in the 2nd at that point in the game, because it had taken like 30 minutes to play 3 1/2 minutes. Refs are cu.cks.
Such a huge difference from the Groce teams, there is actually some aggressiveness. Weirdest officiated game I've been too, no flow whatsoever to the game. College refs are awful.
What I love is that on the perimeter no one holds onto the ball for more than a second. If there’s not an immediate entry pass or driving lane they move the ball to the next man.
You mean, running an actual offense? Feels like it has been forever since we've seen an actual game plan on that end. Whats your thoughts on Alstork? He's been real bad and quite honestly Aaron Jordan deserves more of his minutes. Never thought anybody would say that.
It's also nice having some toughness on this team. Damonte Williams and Mark Smith are gonna be monsters
Jordan's a completely differently player, it's so nice to see. He would have never put the ball on the floor in previous years, but it's really helping his game and confidence. I'm really looking forward to having Black, Finke, and Jordan as seniors next year. If we could add a quality big man as a grad transfer I think we could have a really fun year in 2018-19.
Alstork looks like he’s always in between. Should I shoot or pass? Dribble and go to the rim or kick it out? He looks lost
Can't dump the game tomorrow against Wake who are not good. Would be really happy with 2-1 over the next week.
The two travels and then that awful lob on the alley oop when all they needed to do was to hold onto the ball and make freethrows. Would be great if Lucas could refrain from bricking game killing free throws at the end of games from here on out. That's back to back games.
