No, Im saying STL media has never been one to be the mouthpiece for Mizzou, or push any agenda for them. Whatever they're reporting, it's not at the behest of anyone at Mizzou. Which leads me to ask - what rumors out of the STL media are you seeing that suggests Tilmon is in play?
Yes. He's also a huge SLU honk. If there's any agenda with him, it's to push SLU. Most Mizzou fans hate him. Kind of an attention whore, but most in media are. IS he the one saying Tilmon is a possibility for Mizzou? Most brush off his opinions. Wouldnt be too worried.
Pickett has decommitted. Apparently staff told him he'd have to redshirt, probably wouldn't play until his junior year. Took him to try to get tilmon. No tilmon, Pickett can walk
Its being hinted at the 3rd assistant coach is Chuck Martin most recently at IU but was an assistant under Cal at Memphis. Also hinted at its not being made official right now because its a dead period until the 13th and people not on staff can do things people under contract cannot.
So Smith is going on an official to Ohio State and an unofficial to Kentucky this weekend but supposedly Illinois is having an in-home with him early next week and that will be the last visit.
We will probably be out with Bridges announcing he is coming back. Bummer as we seemed to have all the momentum, he looks like a great player.
Everything I've heard is that Illinois and MSU are neck and neck, Kentucky and Ohio State behind. That was earlier today before the Bridges announcement though.
Its not happening with Smith, no clue with Tilmon. Haven't really heard anything about his decision timetable.
I wouldn't underestimate Jerrance Howard. Esp w the one remaining high ranked recruit being from Peoria.
That'd be cool with me. Is Kansas not a threat in the Charlie Moore sweepstakes? Seems like everything is moving slowly right now. Smith's recruitment is moving slower than anticipated, it took longer to assemble a staff than anticipated, and the recruiting rules aren't allowing the staff to hit the road. I feel like the conditions are in-place for a chaotic April/May. We don't really have any idea which HS recruits the staff will pursue other than Mark Smith and Badocchi from KS.
Kansas has already taken 2 transfers, maybe 3. If they take Moore they'll have 4 scholarships sitting in the stands next year. Not happening
Michigan State will be in for an in-home visit on Tuesday night. Duke will stop in on Wednesday. The Smith family will likely head to Ohio State this weekend as well, according to a source. Better close the deal on Thursday.
Out of the loop. We lose the best recruit we've gotten since Jereme Richmond (lol) and he decommits and they lose another guy and people are happy with the coach? Is there some in Underwood has with some 5* that is giving him this leeway? I haven't paid attention but the broad strokes don't make sense. Looked into this Smith guy, he's 81st in the nation. Is this a basic dude that is getting pimped because people are desperate at this point in the cycle?
Tilmon isn't the best recruit since Richmond, at least if you're going by ranking. I believe his final Rivals ranking was below Leron Black. In fact Tilmon has a lot of Mike Shaw in him. Started out as a top 10 guy, started falling in every ranking after his sophomore season. Smith blew up his senior season, won Illinois Mr. Basketball, ranked 52nd on Rivals final rankings. Basically the opposite trajectory of Tilmon. He's being recruited by MSU, Kentucky, Ohio State, and Duke....so make your own conclusion on that.
Neat, I look forward to seeing him not pick an Illinois hat off a podium at a press conference like always.
So the word is some MSU insiders thinks Smith is a done deal and he's doing a courtesy visit to Illinois tomorrow. Others think MSU is fading. Seems no one knows what the hell is going on.
So it's guess Kansas is legitimately after Moore. Didn't think they would be since they already have 2.5 red shirts on board for next year
