well done ACClopmices. You really preserved the stature of the conference in what was otherwise a pretty shitty tourney for the acc
I hear The Shrunken Head Boutique on Franklin Street has all the best title gear you need and is run by fine people...
I believe Kennedy should have been MOP and for that reason should have an honored jersey. I do not believe he should or will be voted MVP.
Met him and his wife few years back, one of the nicest athletes I've ever met. Actually met several other Carolina players while working in Chapel Hill and all were super nice and cool with the exception of Hansbrough, that guys just a douche.
shabooty you've been a member for 7 years and no posts but have liked a few posts itt introduce yourself, friend
Well, I like long walks on the beach and I'm better than anyone else except people ITT, cause my school basketballs better than their school.

Notes on the scrimmage Spoiler * The defense won, 80-70, and it wasn’t near that close for most of the afternoon. It was 27-8 early and 43-21 at halftime. For reference, the offense won last spring, 74-70. * UNC used the same scoring system it uses in practice, which is one that Chris Kapilovic picked up from the Seattle Seahawks a few years back. The offense earns points on touchdowns (3), converting on 3rd-and-long or 4th-and-long (2) and gaining four or more yards on first or second down (1). The defense earns points on turnovers (3), getting stops on 3rd-and-short and 4th-and-short (2) and holding the offense to three yards or less on first or second down (1). The defense’s inability to force turnovers is the reason the score was so close. * Larry Fedora summed up the quarterback position succinctly after the spring game: “I don’t think that any one of them is ready to go for us at this point.” The QB play was relatively poor early on, at least until Nathan Elliott warmed up and completed a trio of 30+ yard touchdown passes to start moving the offense. Elliott entered spring ball as the lone QB with playing time, and according to some who watched spring ball, he was the most consistent of the quartet. Elliott’s best throw was a 65-yard touchdown pass to Austin Proehl on a post route. What Elliott lacks is Chazz Surratt’s athleticism, which is immense and was on display at Fetzer Field on Saturday. He’s got plenty of arm strength, but his accuracy is a question mark at this point of his development. Surratt threw a couple of tight spirals that were on the money that led several media members to suggest that consistent passing like that would cement the job for him. Probably some truth to that, but those throws were few and far between. QB Stats: Nathan Elliot: 8-12, 213 Yards, 3 Touchdowns Chazz Surratt: 5-14, 90 Yards Logan Byrd: 12-21, 120 Yards, 1 Touchdown Manny Miles: 3-8, 41 Yards, 1 Touchdown * After a slow start sophomore wide receiver Juval Mollette turned in the offensive performance of the scrimmage. He was unable to win a couple of early 50-50 balls, but then excelled in utilizing his size to pull in a number of difficult grabs. The Randleman, N.C. product totaled more than 100 yards receiving and grabbed three touchdown passes, all coming on fade routes into the end zone. Each time the 6-foot-4, 210-pounder was well defended, and he pulled the ball out of K.J. Sails’s hands for the final score of the scrimmage for a 21-yard score. Fedora was asked after the game about Mollette’s emergence: “This is the first offseason that Juval has actually gone through. Last year it was two shoulder surgeries, simultaneous, so he missed all of the offseason. He’s really just now, strength-wise, getting back to a point where he looks like he can do some things. He can use his body in the air, use his body on the ground, all of the things that he needs to do to be a great receiver. And now he feels comfortable with it mentally. When you’re on the sideline and you’re not playing at all, whether it’s a shoulder surgery or whatever it is, it’s hard to stay into mentally. We’re just now getting him back to where he feels comfortable with the offense.” * UNC’s offense took a hit when Mack Hollins was lost for the season down in Miami last October. Without a receiver to stretch a defense vertically on a consistent basis, opponents had success cutting down the depth of the field. Roscoe Johnson may be the 2017’s answer to that issue. The redshirt freshman made his first splash play on a 43-yard crossing route from Elliott, and then showed off his speed by running past defenders on two vertical routes down the sideline. One set up an easy throw from Elliott for a 30-yard TD. * Running back depth has been an issue and was even more so on Saturday. Jordon Brown never saw the field, while Michael Carter left the game with an ankle injury after rushing for 31 yards on nine carries. Walk-on Jacob Schmidt, who led the team with 70 rushing yards, later left the game with what appeared to be a knee injury. Walk-ons Darius Graves and Antonio James received the bulk of the carries from there on out. * The offensive line has also dealt with injuries this spring. Without centers Tommy Hatton and Jay-Jay McCargo out with injury, guard Nick Polino was forced to play center, which prompted Kapilovic to slide Bentley Spain inside at left guard, flip William Sweet over to left tackle and elevate Charlie Heck from the second team to right tackle. Spain doesn’t believe the move inside will stick for long: “I think it’s trying to get as many guys as many reps as possible. We don’t just need guys on the one line getting reps, we need guys with the twos getting a lot of reps, too. We’ve got guys that were previously not getting many with the threes that got to get a lot of reps. I don’t question anything he says, but I think a lot of it is just building depth and I think that’s what we’ve been able to do.” * One lineman who will likely be tired tonight is freshman Jonah Melton, who played every snap with the twos at guard, according to Fedora. * Jason Strowbridge has worked his way inside to tackle from defensive end and has claimed a spot with the first team while Aaron Crawford and Jeremiah Clarke are sidelined. The sophomore defensive lineman’s quick burst was on display throughout the game. On one play late in the scrimmage in the scoring zone, Strowbridge slid past the guard to tackle a running back for a four-yard loss. Fedora expects him to gain 10-15 pounds by training camp. * Dajaun Drennon said the defensive lineman that has been most impressive this spring is end Tyler Powell. The senior made his presence felt early, reading a swing pass from Elliott to Carter on a third-down play and nearly picking it off inside the 10-yard line to get the stop. Drennon had a solid game as well, stopping Surratt for a short gain on a designed QB run and then sacking him on the next play. Drennon finished with five tackles, three sacks and a pass breakup. * UNC intercepted just one pass last season, the lowest total in school history. There were no interceptions on Saturday despite nine PBUs. Similar to last year, the defensive backs were strong in coverage but unable to come up with the picks. D.J. Ford’s athleticism was on display as the sophomore safety led the team with 13 tackles. J.K. Britt added nine stops, while junior Ayden Bonilla led the linebackers with 10 tackles. * Pop of the day: Logan Byrd threw a screen pass into the left flat to Josh Cabrera, who planted his foot to turn up the sideline. Donnie Miles was in perfect position to meet Cabrera coming out of the cut, blowing him up and knocking him backwards out of bounds. Safety Jaye Stackhouse’s hit was a close second as he met James in traffic at the line of scrimmage before laying the 5-foot-7, 175-pound tailback on his back. * K.J. Sails and Tre Shaw both got plenty of work at corner with the ones, although it was Sails who was chippy with Proehl throughout the scrimmage. Sails contested a couple of passes to Proehl early, only to have Proehl beat him for the 65-yard TD pass. A PBU late in the scrimmage led to more talking by Sails and what may have been a penalty flag in a real game. Several minutes later, Proehl had had enough of the chirping, and the two players had to be separated by an official. * M.J. Stewart played most of the game at nickel, but showed up his jumps in tipping away a would-be touchdown pass from Surratt to Anthony Ratliff-Williams on 3rd-and-15. * Proehl and Ratliff-Williams took turns fielding punts. * Freeman Jones made all three of his field goal attempts, including a 41-yarder. More impressively, Jones showed potential to be a weapon on kickoffs, forcing Ratliff-Williams to the back of the end zone on one kick and driving him back several yards into the end zone on another. * Scoring Plays: 25-yard field goal by Freeman Jones 30-yard touchdown pass to Roscoe Johnson from Nathan Elliott 48-yard field goal by Freeman Jones 65-yard touchdown pass to Austin Proehl from Nathan Elliott 11-yard touchdown run by Darius Graves 33-yard touchdown pass to Juval Mollette from Nathan Elliott 17-yard touchdown pass to Juval Mollette from Manny Miles 41-yard field goal by Freeman Jones 21-yard touchdown pass to Juval Mollette from Logan Byrd Extra notes by Evan Chronis * Punter Hunter Lent had a full day of work, as the junior punted 16 times total throughout the Spring Game. The Tar Heels were without last year’s freshman All-American punter Tom Sheldon, who sat out due to injury. * While all four quarterbacks split time, junior quarterback Manny Miles didn’t touch the field until the eighth drive of the game, after the other three quarterbacks all had at least two drives under their belts. While all four quarterbacks struggled with accuracy, none of them threw an interception or even threw many balls into dangerous areas, except for a few ill advised passes. * Running back Darius Graves had a significant day on the ground, as the junior rushed for 65 yards on 21 carries, including an 11-yard touchdown scamper to open the second half.
Does not sound like we are going to have a good year. Rebuilding to the max on offense, and I'll believe it when I see it from the front 7.
you're more confident in them than I am then, we definitely have a lot of bodies there though, gotta think at least one or two step up with Proehl highlights from yesterday
I'll say this though, I have been impressed the last few years with random receivers like Thomas Jackson coming out of nowhere to make plays
Heard from a couple buddies the winds are blowing slightly more positively on the Knox front. Don't know how seriously to believe it but better than not hearing anything I suppose.
