I liked Tuck’s interview last night. Said when they first pitched this to him he was like “nah, I’m cool”, but the more he learned about the league and the people involved he came around.
How much are these guys getting paid. Over/under what Eric The Viking gets to play a football player in a movie?
They make 70k this year, 80k next, 100k the year after. Players will make more money if their team or side of the ball is good, and they get incentives for engaging with fans in various ways. Social media, when a fan chooses you for their betting lineups, etc
I want to take the Orlando offense with Spurrier coaching and the Birmingham defense with Singletary coaching and see what would happen if you let them run against like the Raiders
My bad I was thinking Singletary was the Iron coach because he had a black jacket on. Whoever the Iron HC/DC is.
Hey friend, it's alright. Alliance of American Football fandom is about camaraderie and friendship so don't sweat it! You'll be right next time!
How do you think the AAF will handle the Transfer Portal? Is Jalen Hurts a Future Iron QB or does he get sent to San Antonio?
I may be standing alone but give me the AAF team over bama or Clemson. These guys were still mostly the best, or one of the best players on their teams. It’s always funny when fans of #Alabama Crimson Tide or #Clemson Tigers talk about their teams like the whole 2 deep will be draftees. When ultimately getting a dozen guys on an nfl roster at the beginning of the season is a huge success.
Nah you aren't standing alone. I'd say the worst NFL team beats Bama/Clemson by 50+ and most AAF teams would win by 30+
Don’t know about the entire team, but the defensive 2 deeps of the Bama teams we played in 15 and 16 were pretty much all high to extremely high draft picks. We’ve never had that kind of talent, but there’s not one player in AAF anywhere near as good as Deshaun Watson (or Trevor Lawrence).
Most of our 2 deep does end up getting drafted at some point... I just randomly picked the 2015 depth chart and most all of those guys that were on the two deep were drafted or are currently on NFL rosters That being said no college team could beat an NFL team
Unlike other famous QBs who have worn the number 12, I think we can all agree Luis has the most pure talent and is not a "system" QB.
Certainly seems plausible. “Inquire” is vague enough that I’m surprised it’s not higher. “Hey we loved what we saw, keep it up and we’d love to bring you into camp.”
Did you watch the games? It’s a 10 game season with rules to protect QBs. Obviously it’s possible, but I don’t think there’s anything about the AAF making it any more risky to a QB than college or the NFL. Aside from the hit Wolford took that keeps getting replayed, there really weren’t any hits on QBs.
