the other issue is his style as a salesman really does not have a strong track record, or not the one the current recruiting powers are using. Tricked out cars, NIL NIL NIL, and nonstop bro'ing it out will come off as quite the oversell when you are losing to FCS teams and hanging your hat on close losses.

Im sorry you dont believe it but as a fan who has sat/is sitting through all the shit, it isnt even comparable. Norvell is 100x better.

 

didn’t the shark fucker recruit Trask, pitts and toney? I don’t think Taggart gets a single recruit before the 5th round. Maybe Cooper.

 

Willie seemed like a really good dude and i think he genuinely loved FSU. He was just unimaginably bad at every part of his job.

 

His nerves got so fucked up before the VT game that they had to dose him with Xanax before the game started.

 

Taggart was 9-12. Norvell is 3-8. How is he so much better when he's won 3 games?

How??? What happened in the 3 games that makes him not only better but 100x better? The idea seems ridiculous. He's beaten Duke, Jacksonville State and North Carolina

 

If you only want to look at meaningless wins to try and judge who is better knock yourself out. Willie started with more talent and didnt add any to it but yay he won a couple more games. Even still one of Norvell’s only wins is better than any of Willie’s.
When every part of the program is a dumpster fire there is a lot of things that have to be fixed and changed that arent going to immediately show up in wins. FSU fans expected that. Most assumed a 5 win season this year. Hiring competent people, turning recruiting around, actually working every single day and holding people accountable are just a few things that make Norvell 100x better than Willie. Again its not that Norvell is some amazing savior. Its just such a low bar to be better than Willie was.
Being obsessed with wins and winning percentage to compare is just dumb and lazy. Especially when one was doing nothing but digging a bigger hole for the other.

 

Program was in better shape when Taggart came in. Norvell has completely gutted the roster , something Taggart was unwilling to do. Norvell brought in a bunch of quality transfers that Taggart could never do. UNC win and Notre Dame game are easily better performances than anything Taggart produced. Not to mention, the behind the scenes stories of extreme disorganization like issues with hotel bookings on road trips, etc. It is not as cut and dry as winning percentage (but feels like this should be obvious)
