I do the same thing golfing.

When I don’t? I lose them or ‘put them down’ and a few too many cocktails in step on them :( (by a few too many cocktails hole 17 of a scramble and free booze all day)

Won’t do it any other time, but golfing its the easiest way for them to not interfere when I don’t want or need them (putting) but when I need to track the ball in the air (driving, long irons) without them being a pain in the ass.
