Per Pete Thamel. Ryan Day to become head coach.
I like the hire, some won’t.
lol at his final dickslap of #Michigan Wolverines. What a way to go.
Aight, so...2020? Where we thinking?
So what year does he come back? 2022?
nature abhors a vacuum
rutgers dynasty incoming
I think it’s a home run. Coaches aren’t as upwardly mobile as they used to be for a variety of reasons, and this has the same feel Stoops to Riley did.
Whenever Brian Kelly moves on.
Poor Brian Kelly.
Urban Meyer just looming over your shoulder every time you don't win 12 games.
A nice year off before returning to the SEC and taking over God's #Auburn Tigers
Just waiting on the Zach Smith tweets
Announcement was supposed to be on Friday.
10/10 logo usage.
No one has ever said this until now
Hopefully this means Battle to Bama
Only has a few years left anyway
USC, the climate is much better for his health.
Also cunningly dumped games to Iowa and Purdue to make sure he went out with a win against Nick.
Crafty son of a bitch.
Think it depends on what he does with the staff, does he keep it intact or make some changes
Definitely going to ND once it’s open.
Where every ex Florida coach goes
Hi, will Urban be officially unofficially helping first-year head coach Ryan Day as he settles in? Almost like they’d have two head coaches! Because that was supposed to be the plan with Muschamp, too.
MADE HIS ASS SO HAPPY HE QUIT
I know it's early, but someone needs to do the lord's work and go wake up Zach Smith from his bender last night. We need tweets!
Hard to believe he’s only 54.
He really has aged terribly.
What would you place the odds on Urban coaching again within 3 years?
USC or no where else
At least Michigan doesn’t have to fire Harbaugh now
I assume there was some interest gauging of other potential guys to hire. Seems lazy to just name a guy on staff when you are OSU and can hire just about any coach.
I truthfully believe he’s done.
It was always going to be Day or Campbell.
I’m not sold on there being options leaps and bounds better than Day. Recruits like him, and he’s shown to be a great offensive mind. If he can find someone to clean up the defense, I think this can be a great fit.
Not saying he won't turn out to be the absolute perfect hire, I know very little about him. Just think it would be odd for a school with the resources of OSU to not do a serious search.
Florida is where you go to retire. I’m sure Mullen would give him an office if he’d like to volunteer in any capacity.
Dudes gonna have boosters sucking him off for years to come.
Hell I think I’d rather just toy with teams until my mid 60’s and just need a hobby with no expectations. #South Carolina Gamecocks
I just can’t see a world where a guy as competitive and obsessive as urban is done at 54, it’d just be very surprising to me.
Unless they have an unworking coach in mind....
I'm guessing that was Urban's call. He's earned the right to make it, I think.
Wow! Big if true!
Zach Smith waking up this morning like...
That would be the greatest heel move of all time.
You could have said this about Stoops/Riley, and that’s worked out OK for the Sooners.
