I go ahead and sit damn near everyone who is a lock for the team; except Jozy. I'd let Jozy play, but pair him with Gomez then Ching to see how their chemistry is. I'd sit Dempsey, Lando, Howard, Gooch, Boca, etc... Tonight should be all about seeing what the guys on the fence can do in a game.
If America plays up to the level their capable of I think a 2-1 win is more than doable. I think playing the Czech will get us ready for Slovenia, since I think the Czech are better than Slovenia, but if USA loses, it won't be the end of the world. I'd like to see Bradley give some playing time to some of the fringe players to give them a shot at making the team.
Id say play a mix of first team guys who need games to check fitness like Gooch and Holden and then mix in fringe players, I want to see Bradley/Edu though in the middle
I don't disagree, but with 16 days out plus 2 more games after tonight; seeing the other guys would be more important to me then the fitness of guys I know are going to make it.
Anyone else besides me excited to see what Gomez can do for us? He had a hell of a year in the Mexican league
He is who I am most looking forward to watching tonight. I would like to see him get at least 45 minutes with Jozy to see how they work together
for me its Gomez, Buddle and Beasley. all the camp updates i'd read had said something about DaMarcus having a really good camp. so i'm excited to see that and how our two most in form strikers perform
ussoccer #USMNT Lineup v. CZE: Guzan; Cherundolo (c), Goodson, Onyewu, Bornstein; Holden, Edu, Torres, Beasley; Buddle, Johnson 8 minutes ago And don't mind cas he has always disliked jozy
has jozy improved since confed cup? he's like the american joe cole slow footed, no pace, criminally overrated by his own fanbase
I'd say yes, he played a lot in the EPL, got a lot better at keeping possession and drawing fouls, won several penalties this year, more importantly he plays at a faster pace now, which was one of his biggest weaknesses, and he was clearly the most dangerous player against the Netherlands in that friendly
then good im not rooting against him, especially considering how important he is to us soccer im just being honest about what i see with him if he's improved (idk, i didnt pay attention to him over the past year) then hopefully we see it tonight if he hasn't, and i was the us coach, id sub him in on like the 75th minute if we were up 1-0 so i could kick the ball into the corner and have him hold it for a little while since that was his best skill last year
yea that would be nice, if we had the depth, which we dont its sad because him and davies were a really good pair together
This should be our last American manager for a long time if Bradley fails to get us past the group stage, and even past the quarterfinals. We need to mix it up a bit after Sampson, Arena and Bradley.
I hate ESPN but they got it right this time around. Klinsmann replacing Julie Foudy is quite the step up. Also, :yatzy: for Adrian Healey. Edit: Donovan, DeMerit, Bradley, Feilhaber and Altidore not in uniform which isnt surprising
