I think your 1-4 is fairly close and is can be interchangable depending on your criteria then I think their is a little gap and CCV at #5 and then another gap and a group of players like Wright, Perez, Glad, Adams, Durkin, Ferreira, Taitague. I think Gaines is in that next group, so not in my Top 10.
Gaines is one of my favorite prospects and I'm still super bullish on him, so I admittedly might be biased. I do think he's going to turn out though
Benefica just gave Keaton Parks a 4 year contract Haven't seen much of him but that's a hell of a vote of confidence.
He certainly seems very technically gifted, but as you alluded to it's really hard to judge prospects at his age. (Same goes for Gio Reyna) I don't even think there's any way to accurately compare a guy like him to prospects multiple years older.
Christian Heidel on Avdijaj, Sam, and Wright Donis Avdijaj, Sidney Sam, and Haji Wright are three players who have not made the journey to Schalke’s training camp in Mittersill. Director of sport Christian Heidel explains why. … Haji Wright: The kid is on a very, very good course, but he’s just missing something that would allow him to be able to really have a chance at breaking into the team and playing for us. It’s difficult for him because of his position as a striker. However, we’re of the opinion that Haji is definitely in need of playing time, and so the manager has decided that it is best for him to remain with the U23s – or better – play in the 2. Bundesliga in order for him to acquire more match experience at a high level. We’ve got a loan move in mind, and so we agreed that it wouldn’t make much sense for him to make the journey to the training camp in Mittersill.
Saw that USA beat Chile 1-0 in an U17 friendly in Portland yesterday, not sure how strong the squads were.
don't know if schalke wants 2 players in front of the back 4 at all times, but he and the other dm don't seem to be involved too much in the buildup after the ball crosses midfield.
Busio is apparently one we all need to keep an eye on. He did this a while back Has a european passport too
U17 roster called in for a pre-WC tournament. http://www.ussoccer.com/stories/201...for-vaclav-jezek-tournament-in-czech-republic Pretty much the same as the CONCACAF squad except 16 yo Uly Llanez is on roster after his switch. That attacking talent is pretty ridiculous with Carleton, Sargent, Weah, and Llanez.
Busio & Lindsey are the two stand outs for Sporting KC's youth academy. Damn shame never got Sargent in the fold, or that much value out of Palmer-Brown.
That only matters if he stays states side. He is going across the pond & sporting wont get a red cent out of it.
Yeah, there's a soccer writer for ASN who posts on another board, that called Josh Sargent playing for the U20's weeks beforehand- when people still thought that was crazy. It's obviously supposed to be on the down low, because he all but spelled it out without actually saying it.
Mckennie started Schalke's friendly today which isn't surprising, but even better, Taitague did as well. Hard to understand the German, but apparently he had a very nice game.
One of the guys for Top Drawer Soccer had a string of tweets about Weston McKennie overnight I found interesting
Will be loaned out (likely to Eredevise) to get playing time and he probably wouldn't qualify for a UK Work Permit just yet.
https://www.sportingkc.com/post/201...-old-defender-jaylin-lindsey-homegrown-player SKC signs Jaylin Lidsey to HG deal effective 1/1/18. Lindsey is with U17 in WC prep right now.
Can see why Sporting Kc signed Busio to homegrown contract at 15 yrs old. He put in the game winner vs Dallas U-19 game this weekend. Dallas has a pretty legit club system if i remember correctly.
