Well this sucks, the U-20 WCQ game against Suriname is the exact same time as the Paraguay friendly. Though I don't know if there's no tv/stream for the U-20 game.
Yep, makes no sense why Salgado can't get an exception since it's the first division league of both the U.S. and Canada, but FIFA will probably FIFA.
Also a free stream at concacaf.com, just need to register. Nervous since this either win or don't advance to the U-17 WC (1st time CONCACAF has done it this way), and it's supposedly quite a shitty field there in Jamaica.
1-1 at HT U.S. had a couple good chances at the end of the half. Had a shot hit the crossbar (should've finished it though), and GK also made a nice save off a flick. The field is turrible, patches of dead/no grass, and plays as hard as 1980's astroturf.
It's now 10v9. We had a guy get a 2nd yellow and sent off, and then a retarded PK call and straight red for our GK. He went up in the air high to grab a ball, and had a knee up, which is what all GK's do. The ES guy ran into him, ref calls a PK and straight red. ES converts the PK, just need to kill off the next couple mins.
U.S. holds onto win 3-2, and face the winner of Jamaica/Honduras, but most importantly qualify for the U-17 WC in America's ass.
U-17's lead Jamaica 1-0 at HT on a goal from Marc Pelosi. Game is on ESPN Deportes, ESPN3.com, and CONCACAF.com Winner plays in the final
just noticed this was on on espn3.com when i was gonna do the tv listings for tomorrow watching it now... how come it says that the U-17 team is scrimmaging with Ft lauderdale strikers tomorrow??? are they coming to the US after the game?
ahhh well i was thinking of getting there early to watch that, now I wont. Hopefully Agudelo plays for NYRB though.
Nathan Smith's goal is up on www.ussoccer.com and like van Bronckhort, he was our LB. Jack McInerney had this goal at the 2009 U-17 WCQ against Canada. Starts at about the 30 second mark but the goal before it is sweet too. Jack McInerney
Dallas Cup U-19 Super Group (April 17-24 at Pizza Hut Park): FC Barcelona (Spain) Arsenal (England) Japan U-19 NT Eintracht Frankfurt (Germany) Corinthians (Brazil) Coritiba (Brazil) Tigres (Mexico) Bolivar (Bolivia) LD Alajuelense (Costa Rica) CS Cartagines (Costa Rica) Chorrillo (Panama) FC Dallas (USSDA) Real Salt Lake (USSDA) Houston Dynamo (USSDA) Vancouver Whitecaps (USSDA) Dallas Texans (USSDA)
FC Dallas could actually throw a really good youth team out there with all their Homegrown signees, but that's definitely a step up to Barca, Arsenal, and Corinthians. Omar Salgado is supposed to play with Vancouver if his waiver with FIFA is not approved by then.
