Bayern 2 as a 17 yo CB is pretty insanely impressive even if it’s just a cup of coffee. he just got there too, so they must think a whole lot of him.
Tenorio said someone with Bayern told him to scout America like they Scout Germany they would need (iirc) 10K scouts stateside. That’s why they partnered with FCD and focus on Texas.
Really shows you how far behind we are on talent development per capita. Thats just ONE TEAM. There aren’t 10k MLS scouts total.
Yeah, when the US had that massive cash surplus a few years ago I and many others were begging for USSF to invest in more scouts but pretty sure that went wanting
for some reason when I clicked on this thread it took me to the first post. Looking back at this more than 10 years later, what a sad list. Most of these guys are in their late 20's and out of football. Lletget is the most successful of the group.
There’s currently 7-8 players 21 or younger for the 2021 version of this list that have already accomplished more than basically anyone on the 2010 list
The '03 birth year will be the deepest this country has produced. Don't know if there'll be a talent as good as say Pulisic or McKennie from '98, but there could be close to 20 kids that make it at a big 4 Europe type level born in '03. Can't wait to wake up in the middle of the night 2 years from now to watch them play at the U20 WC.
People that follow youth soccer closely think that Corcoran is a Pulisic, Reyna, McKennie level prospect.
I need a list of players in Euro clubs ( not MLS ) other than some ESPN article. Some soccer folks and I are having discussion and while Canada has some good young talent I’m trying to point out USA has easily a 20-1 advantage in kids in academies, second teams or on the top team.
Depends on your age cut off for “youth” but most younglings are starting their careers in MLS these days. Especially if they don’t have an EU passport. Personally, I consider “youth players” as ones at their oldest are eligible for the next U20 WC. Weird year since the 2021 U20 WC was canceled.
When kids are moving from a youth program in MLS are the signing a pro contract or are they going into the academies?
I think they're trying to get more of the promising guys to sign earlier after a number of MLS academy kids got coached up and bounced to Europe for free at 17/18.
