totally. But from Twitter's perspective it makes perfect sense that you'd want to support that "content" being on their platform, hence making the feature available makes sense. So to does using the platform where more people are likely to see it, from the perspective of the organization. Twitter feeds are way more popular and ubiquitous at this point than, say, RSS feeds.
