Per Mike Freeman of USA Today, these are the 10 worst fan bases in sports: 10. #Philadelphia Eagles fans 9. #Notre Dame Fighting Irish football fans 8. #Texas Longhorns football fans 7. #Golden State Warriors fans 6. #St. Louis Cardinals fans 5. #Boston Red Sox fans 4. #Boston Celtics fans 3. #New England Patriots fans 2. #Dallas Cowboys fans 1. #Miami Heat fans No Kentucky basketball fans? No Yankee fans? Who else is missing, TMB? https://www.usatoday.com/story/spor...ases-nfl-college-football-nba-mlb/9796993002/
Nine seems about right, but if we recruit well, I could see us finishing top 4. Somebody drop a bag for Dump .
I assume the only reason UK basketball wasn’t a unanimous #1 is because they’ve been retired and are in some Shitty Human Beings HOF
Because they somehow manage to be both absolutely deranged homers with a persecution complex and also casual fairweather fans who disappear the second they think the team isn't a title contender
Honestly canes fans are a very particular kind of awful. Not sure if they deserve a top10 ranking but they are the first team i thought about
The way I see it, there are two criteria in play here… - Is the fan base full of trash human beings? - Does the fan base completely lack knowledge of the sport? Ohio State and Alabama fanbases, to me, grade poorly on the first point but not so much the second. Truly awful fanbases like the Yankees and Miami are terrible in both respects.
You might want to consider that those poor bastards have spent their lives in the cesspool of OSU fandom. Whatever extreme defense mechanisms they have developed are forgivable. We always have to make allowances for our own tjsblue
lots of great options for them. michigan is the wrong one. but they certainly can't be accused of being front runners, 0.5 national titles since 1948
With the way things have been at texas for the last….10 years or so, IT fans should be happy to place anywhere on a top 10 list
73% of people I know in Ohio have no idea I’m a Michigan fan. Ohio fans TO Michigan fans in this state are utterly ridiculous. Tracking us down to discuss ESPN level commentary on every Michigan news item… and this approach started after the 90s obviously.
I don’t think I’ve met anyone under 50 who openly admits to being a UT fan since I moved to Texas a lot of southern boomers is enough to put you into the top ten imo
Michigan State is low key a god awful fanbase. You basically take the worst aspects of the Ohio State and Penn State fanbases, inject a bit of little brother syndrome, and then you have Sparty. There just aren’t enough of them for people to notice.
