the worst thing about this team is they don't lose enough to make firing Helton inevitable. There's still time, I suppose.
It’s still amazing the lack of development your top recruits have. I don’t understand how they don’t progress individually
I would love to argue with you old school rivals board style but you 100% spot on banks. Add the following: predictable game plans, lack of quality at both offense and defensive lines and this goes back to the 2 years with Darnold. That Penn State Bowl game created unwarranted hype. We all got excited because of where the program was but it was a fluke. And the run of winning the pac 12 and being in the running for pac 12 contention is due to the pac 12 just not being that good.
I saw the stadium on Tv yesterday and the emptiness made me sad. I miss usc being an elite program Who do we want as coach?
Made me happy tbh, hope it's even more empty next game and forces Swann's hand that much more. Money is the only thing that talks at that school. Whoever the next coach is it has to be someone from outside the USC ecosystem, they have this weird deluded idea that only SC alumni/former coaches can understand the program
I think you overrate their talent, just like recruiting sites do. You are still right that they should be way better than what they are so the développement is not up to par, but Cali kids are known to be flakes, Nd almost just gave up recruiting the state because these kids are ridiculous. Not worth it. Usc is a great school, the football program should be way better but it’s not as easy a job as it looks. The perception is always that you are playing with a great hand, but a football team is more than just a few 5 stars that can run.
Pendulum might swing in the direction of a defensive minded coach, which makes some sense. Hard not to like Matt Campbell because he understands both sides of the ball. I happen to like Scott Satterfield as well, but more offensive type
You guys really need a coach that has been around. Campbell would be a home run, don’t worry about recruiting. It will take care of itself if the guy can coach. And he will find some players for what he wants to do. Recruiting rankings are stupid
There's a 2% chance Lynn Swann has ever heard of Scott Satterfield and probably a 20% chance on Campbell as well
frt, I’m an LA based duck who has a bunch of usc and UCLA friends, so I follow. The conference is an embarrassment and until/unless usc and Oregon get right, it doesn’t matter. They’re the most nationally respected and marketable programs
And frankly as a Nd fan it’s a shame that Nd and sc can’t ever be good at the same time. It’s annoying. These games would be so fun. But right now this rivalry is not enjoyable, they might beat Nd this year. They always can beat almost anybody with their talent but the game has no hype.
no chance we beat ND this year, ND has a great D-line that will force either Daniels or Sears into bad throws
Our secondary is pretty nice too, but you guys have some playmakers. They are young but still talented. Just wish this game could be massive sometimes, I was wrong on Helton I actually liked him. You guys deserve better.
If they do they are over rating him. Which is pretty much in line with a lot things SC related in the last few years.
I know SC is flush with cash, but are they really going to fire him with 5 years left on his contract?
They have to do it. It’s like when you have a slow leak and you are short on money. Just patching it will cost you more than fixing it with quality
Here's that article on why he's one of the best in the country https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/college-iman-marshall-blossoming-into-one-of-pac-12-best
I don't think you guys have anything to be worried about. Even if we somehow put a fight to begin the game, your coaches will adjust because that's what coaches with a pulse do.
