Sargent getting called up is a big surprise to me. If it wasn't clear already looks like everyone in the federation thinks a ton of him. Really want to see a midfield of Gooch/McKennie/Adams but I assume Williams and Bedoya will get the starts somewhere in the midfield.
I’d say too young. Surprised Sargent got called in but he was playing up with the U20s also. Weah I believe was only with U17s
I think they called in Sargent because: 1) They obviously like him a lot 2) He is just sitting around waiting to go to Werder in Feb, so this gives him high level training sessions 3) Haji Wright is the next closest, but B2 plays on 11/17 and he needs to fight for minutes. 4) The other option was Christian Ramirez. Beyond him probably somebody in USSDA. Sapong lead all American's in goals during the MLS season. Not that I think Sapong is a factor moving forward.
I still have plenty of love for him but totally get people not feeling that way after his sabbatical Also don’t necessarily think he’s the best for the job so happy to see him bow out. Too many others involved is good for Sunil

McKennie is total captain material. As soon as he was eligible to sign with Schalke, he immediately became their U19 captain. Tyler Adams has the same mentality too.
I didn't think I could love him more. And I mean, the atmosphere that we had going on that field in Orlando, in that stadium, for our qualifier against Panama … it was unlike anything that I’d ever experienced in the U.S. before. Those fans were unreal — and I was so proud to be a part of that match. It really felt like we were all working together that night to make something special happen.
Those nights are something special. I felt that in 2013 vs Mexico, did not feel that in 2016. Wish we hadn’t played them so closwbafter the election. It all just felt different and people were trying to be nice to the Mexico fans and it just was a weird night.
