sure but doesn't seem like that is the case at all and then next match isn't until March so there really isn't a need for an interim manager right now.
I wonder if they offered jurgen to stay on as technical director and he told them to fuck off. Sunil is lucky the women won the WC or otherwise he'd have nothing at all to hold onto for his job.
If the second decision is poor it can make the first decision look bad. I wouldn't fire Klinsmann unless I had someone better lined up. We obviously don't.
I think TD was just given to JK. People involved with youth development in this country have said JK has not been involved with anything really. Plus, JK's hiring of Herzog was crap too.
While the first two games sucked, I think we would still qualify for the world cup without a huge amount of stress. Now I'm pretty worried about making it.
Losing the first two games wasn't what had me panicked; it was how we looked in those first two games. The Mexico game could have easily been 3-0 at halftime. Couple that with the game against los Ticos, and I was very worried indeed about Russia under JK.
Not that you care right now but you can replace half with none. And Klose and Podolski grew up playing soccer in Germany from an early age.
The team had given up on JK and their play reflected that in my opinion. A change had to be made and Arena knows the players and system well enough to come in and right the ship and get the team qualified. Now hopefully US Soccer transitions to another coach once the squad is qualified. The new manager isn't immediately under pressure to dig out of a hole and can come in and instill a system with his players in time for 2018. Arena for 2018 and then Ramos for 2022 is gross.
How in the world is Tab lining up for 2022? Guy couldn't win currently with the players he will be coaching by that time
I think he was referring to many of the players having non german heritage (ie Turkish, Polish, Spanish) but yes, they were all raised in Germany.
Team had totally tuned out JK, so any replacement would ve an upgrade in that regard. Expect a much more concrete style of play and formation from Arena than the revolving door JK had in that regard.
exactly. Arena is a good professional man. Is he a great manager? Probably not but he's certainly better than Jurgen.
24 hours ago I would have completely disagreed. Now I think Jürgen might be on to something if Sunil rehires Arena.
I don't know why it was brought up then? None of the complainers are complaining about a Jozy Altidore with Haitian parents but born and raised in the States playing for you. It's the players with no ties to American soccer before playing for national teams they have a problem with.
I might as well give up following Soccer. First I deal with the same shit with Swansea and now the USMNT. Sunil y must u kill my soul with this bullshit.
there isn't any honor in winning if you have the attitude. I don't think anyone is going to consider it a legitimate win if Qatar bought the citizenship of all best young Brazilians in the world.
Well that isn't going to happen, and who bases this shit on honor. If we win the World Cup I won't give two shits where the American citizens who won it were born
I think Arena's quote is in regards to improvement of our ability to develop talent, which we hadn't been improving upon. He certainly had no issues playing Earnie Stewart or David Regis during hist first stint.
Depends. If you can't even properly explain in English why you're switching to the US on your application with FIFA, no.
It isn't a troll. Being excited we got a bunch of kids because they weren't good enough for the German national team epitomizes our insignificance in international soccer. Posters should just go root for Germany if winning is all that matters.
