SugarShaun can attest I’ve always been okay with him being on the team for reasons I’ve already given in this thread.
this is why i respect the hell out of him. he does all the little things that you'll never see Dike do.
If GGG pwns Tata (for like the 10th time in their history) with this groups vs the El Tri 1s…. Spoiler
They’ve basically taken the opposite approach of what we want for Americans. They have everyone playing in their domestic league and seem to want to bring in coaching to bring up the level there
Zardes has to start Sunday. Will Dike be good enough to come off the bench? Doesn’t have it with the bum shoulder.
He’s always read the game very well, especially after playing with Robbie Keane, and works his ass off. If he had just above average technical ability, he’d be at pretty high European league level. Also, he’s an incredible human being. If people still want to dislike him on the field, you should never read an article about him or listen to an interview with him. I know many people say he’s at least an MLS manager in training.
man i wish zimmerman wouldn't have gotten hurt. i'd love to see him, myles (who has been outstanding) yea, i'm fucking quick-draw mcgraw on the mute button when i hear him start talking...
I’m sure it has been said, but Qatar aren’t going to be a lay down in the World Cup most people expect
Credit where credit is due. Zardes comes up huge again. Not sure I’ll ever trust him, but he makes me look like a hater and loser (of which there are many) more often than I’d like to admit.
At the same age, Zardes was a junior at Cal State Bakersfield. Daryl has plenty of time to grow. Although, Pepi will lay waste to our entire striker pool here soon enough.
El Tri is trying hard for sure, but it’s not like he even got called in for their GC provisional roster. We do have the advantage that he’s provisionally cap tied to us and he obviously knows McKennie, Cannon, Reynolds, and Pomykal. And god if Pomykal was 100% fit leading up to the GC, he’d easily be the alpha of this roster.
Turner is better than Steffen at any point of Steffen’s MLS career. If Turner makes the right move during the January window, he can definitely become our #1 and arguably should be it right now. His reflections are elite level.
Turner and Robinson have clearly improved their standing getting into the “A” team this tournament. Both are arguably starters now. And I think Robinson’s athleticism and insane 1v1 defending ability would partner well with Brooks.
And let’s not forget that this is the reigning Asian champs that beat South Korea and Japan. Plus, basically all of the Qatar team plays for 2 club teams. So they have a shit ton of cohesion.
Fucking CONCACAF with their choosing stadiums to lay down temporary grass. Houston grass looks awful for this match. Thankfully, Vegas has the Schalke rolling grass system.
And there’s a lot of these dudes that shouldn’t be on this GC roster. They should be in Tokyo right now if not for fucking Jason Kreis. We’d have an even younger roster if that happened.
Look. I don’t know if Dirt’s horse can get any higher. A Kreis gate train will send him to the stratosphere
