I'm being gaslit by some people who keep telling me that Paul Arriola predominantly plays on the left, and my brain is broken
Think he’s played there for USMNT once or twice but he’s definitely a right sided player. Here’s your proof
Good chance McKennie leaves Schalke soon and honestly, that’s a good thing for him. The club is massively in debt, they won’t be paying anyone high wages, and probably need to sell off some players. He’s likely not to have a team around him to really develop as a player any time soon.
Yep. they have no scoring talent or creativity and play a grotesque brand of soccer to try to compensate but even that isn’t working at all
I think I heard on the radio they’re putting a hard cap at something like $2.5MM per player. So any player in their team that could bring more than that on the open market is likely leaving.
Twitter rumors say Everton and Newcastle are interested in McKennie, as well as a couple other EPL clubs. No idea how true they are. The more I think about it the more I like the Hertha idea, though.
He would be an immediate starter at Everton right next to Gomes in the midfield under tutelage of Ancelotti.....be a pretty good situation for him on a bigger stage then Hertha
how are the using him? looks like on the left but does he have a lot of freedom? he was popping up often times in the middle.
Yeah mostly left wing, sometimes him and Willian will flip for a little bit, he definitely has freedom to create wherever.
He is incredibly fun to watch right now. He’s still a kind of high volume dribbler and gets dispossessed a good bit, but he’s so ridiculously direct and aggressive that almost every dribble he completes creates danger. It’s also great watching him slowly wear down fullbacks as the game goes on. That probably should have been a second pen near the end of the game, but since it wasn’t completely egregious and he’d already earned one I think they let it go.
Sargent was attacking when Heidenheim scored an OG in the Bundesliga promotion/relegation playoff for Bremen to go up 1-0 so I’m crediting him with it. Need to pay more attention to replay when they show it to see how responsible he was
I did see that, just missed the part leading up to it on the replay to see how that ended up happening
Looked like it was played in to a teammate and took a deflection to Sargent. Sargent sorta handled it and tried to make a turn when the defender cleared it into the net.
