Ehh, it is and it isn’t. If he is being told “If you play it long, you lose your starting spot” then it’s not on Steffen and berhalter is worse than we even think. No he didn’t have any options short. But he he still hasn’t learned to just boot it away when there is nothing short and he’s been responsible for goals from at least 3 games this year. There’s got to be some learning involved.

So a few things I'm curious about as I've been watching the matches but really haven't followed the national team like I had in the past with such a frustrating situation. 1. What does Berhalter lose by just going with an extremely youth oriented roster and preparing them to take on CONCACAF qualifying and hopefully the 2022 WC? Is it the fear of setting them up for failure because what I've seen has been nothing but failure. 2. What is the chance of USSF making a change before qualifying or during? 3. As I said I havent been following as much but is keeping kids in MLS and utilizing those over the ones in Europe still seemingly favored and that's why we are seeing so many of the MLS guys getting pitch time?

I know we will, but I really hope we don't see Trapp and Zardes. With a lot of our top players going back to their clubs, lets get some new young guys in there. We suck anyways, might as well see if the young guys suck less than GGGGGGG's favorites.
Sargent is gonna start tonight apparently. But our midfield is gutted with Pulisic and McKennie gone, so I fully expect him to get no service and struggle to be able to make an impact.

He’ll be a good second tier midfielder for us. Will play a lot in Olympic qualifying. Mostly 6/8, beast at recovering and winning duels, makes a lot of nice easy passes. Almeyda has completely changed his career trajectory.
