US Soccer/MLS- "We want soccer-specific stadiums" Also them- "Yea, let's play this on a baseball field"
Morris should have headed it back for a tap in, but I can’t blame any forward for being selfish with our lack or scoring for 3+ games.
Dest is done with this. I could see the thought bubbles as he walked off... “fuck this these guys are idiots please call me up Oranje.”
Announced attendance of 20k But MLS also made soccer-specific stadium a requirement for expansion teams a couple years ago, with the apparent exception of a couple teams
I think what we're doing is very discouraging to the youth players. If Pomykal is willing to publicly say what he said re: Sargent and Zardes then you know many more are thinking it. We're going to have a difficult time pulling dual nationals/losing others like Dest if shit like this keeps up. For the life of me I don't understand why guys who will never be anything more than average to slightly below average keep getting so many minutes in these friendlies. I think the Olympic qualifying will tell a lot about the future of the team. Something like this should be the lineup every time out: -------------Sargent------------ --Weah----------------Puli----- -----McKennie---Adams------ -------------Durkin-------------- Dest-----JAB----Long----Cannon ---------Steffens------- You can throw Richards/Miazga/CCV etc. in at CB and I'm not sure on other options at the 6 instead of Durkin, but those NEED to be the front 5. The Adams at RB bullshit needs to end. Too many guys are getting square peg-round hole'd because of GGG's tactics and it's monumentally stupid. It's pretty clear we're moving backward, and with the talent we have coming through the ranks in their teens and early 20s we need leadership that has a fucking clue. The best manager in USSF is coaching u17 which is a fuckin joke. The more kids we have go to Europe the more we're going to have realizing how terribly run USSF is. Last night I didn't even bother watching the game, but still got plenty pissed just reading some of this thread and twitter. People like Twellman/Lalas/Martino in the media need to speak up and try to incite some change because this ship is going to take any positive soccer momentum thats been built by Pulisic etc. and completely annihilate it if we fail to qualify for the WC again, miss the olympics etc.
You're not going to get any of those guys to play in Olympic qualifiers because those aren't FIFA International dates, so their teams won't release them. But I agree something like that should be our lineup in all senior games moving forward. Enough with the MLS players over the age of 25.
It’ll basically be that U23 squad that beat Japan yesterday plus Pomykal, Cannon, Robinson and Yueill for the qualifiers. Plus 3 overage players unless they changed that,
