One of my friend has been best friends with Armas since High School. One night he referred to him as one of the greatest American players of all time, and I said I wouldn't put him in that category. He is still mad at me to this day. He got super angry at me at a dinner this year and I had completely forgotten that I said that. He said that I disrespected one of his best friends.

 

Better than disrespecting an entire sport and country

 

He was a good player. Probably would be an above average starter in todays MLS. No one except childhood friends consider him “one of the best ever”. Maybe around 50ish? I don’t know, that’s too hard to think about.
