After listening to Last Pod for 4-5 years now my take away is every police force has a small percentage of people that work there that really care for their community, and helping people, and preventing/stopping crimes, and the rest of the cops fucking hate those guys to the point they will actively hamper investigations to avoid paperwork. This appears to happen in Canada as well. Homophobia is also often rampant to the point that pretending to be gay might get you off the hook because cops just don’t want to think about gay sex

I really can't believe that I would get more angry about the story, and then the video of the cops holding down parents while they sat around and did nothing to help those kids was posted. I read this as the cop overheard the kid asking for help and he went in and shot her. The fact that my brain went there first shows how fucking awful cops are because it seemed completely believable.

Look at the tweet I just posted, we got so many Democrats who acted as if they had to come out as pro police as possible in order to win. We will never meaningfully address the militarization and racism of police in this country in our lifetime.
Don't mistake my position as voting doesn't do anything at all, but it's become absolutely clear that electing Democrats to power isn't going to be enough unless 30 million or more inbred redneck morons don't vote as well which will never happen.

I’m not saying i know the solution or that the dems are the answer. You might very well also be right that it wont be adressed in our lifetime. I guess i’m just of the opinion that the only (very slim hope) is that people keep talking about this and keep voting for people who promise they’ll fight it. Two different church shootings in Texas, armed civilians heroically come to rescue and neutralize shooter. Elementary school shooting in Texas, multiple trained and heavily armed law enforcement officers sit outside and “contain” a shooter in a classroom allowing him to massacre an entire room full of 10 year old kids.
