big thanks to senator coach tubberville for teaching me that captain caveman actually used an AR and stayed well stocked with.223 ammo
this right here the access kids have to firearms is absolutely soul crushing Even worse, a majority of those firearms are used to kill other kids
Folks falling for the bullshit. Other countries have rap and video games but don’t have this problem. Guns is the fucking problem and that’s it. Folks need to not lose sight of the target.
I drunkenly didn’t tell a person to kill themselves. I didn’t tell a poster that nor did I directly message one of the officers involved but do you
After seeing all these police interviews and news conferences I have a feeling that surveillance tapes are going to be “lost” or blocked from being released. I’m guessing anyone who ends up speaking out will be hassled by the local PD. The police dept looks like a bunch of incompetent slapdicks with their response and half ass narrative so far.
Also when white racist republicans bring up rap THATS A DOG WHISTLE FOLKS! It’s no different from “what about Chicago” please don’t repeat that fucking garbage. Thanks in Advance
It’s the frustration that Daniel posted. It’s infuriating that this happened and that people that were involved will just get to skirt by all ramifications because they have a badge.
Guys the only people we want to kill themselves are of course all cops and all other non government agent fascists
I see the divisiveness of the suicide topic here but I legitimately do hope every employee and board member at the NRA turns a gun on themselves or has someone do it for them. Every day they are allowed to breathe is a travesty.
I agree with you, guns are THE problem I was trying to make an additional point based on one of the stats the Yankees posted about gun violence but the point still is, guns are the problem. But I my take hijacked the thread so my bad to everyone.
Pretty good read. “There’s a word for someone who walks around terrified of dangers that are almost entirely imaginary, obsessively fixated on being ready to kill people who appear threatening—but only to reduce the risk to himself. The word is coward. This is not some inborn propensity. At least some of the parents at Uvalde were willing to risk their lives to try to stop the shooter, without weapons or body armor. But then, they had not been trained as police.”
So who's bringing the guns in this country? I couldn't sneak a plastic pellet gun through customs in London. Then last week I seen a Schwarzenegger movie where he's shooting all sorts of these motherfuckers with an Uzi.
Agreed. Hell they can't even live up to their own name. Who the fuck allowed handgun owners into the association?
It’s amazing how fucking evil the SCOTUS has pretty much always been. Everyone involved with it deserves a form of (redacted) so awful it’s yet to be invented This message is powerfully reinforced by Supreme Court precedent. As Ramenda Cyrus recently wrote for the Prospect, in the 2005 case Town of Castle Rock v. Gonzales, a woman sued the local police department for “failing to arrest her husband, who had violated a protective order, resulting in the murder of her three children.” In an opinion written by Antonin Scalia, the Court ruled against her, holding that police have no duty to protect the public unless they have specifically promised to in writing. That impossible standard is why a New York City man lost a lawsuit against the NYPD when an officer failed to help him while he grappled with a knife-wielding assailant. As Cyrus writes, “the police do not have to act if someone is actively being harmed, they do not have to arrest someone who has violated orders, and they do not have any obligation to protect you from others.”
What if we changed “deserves torture” to a fun and cheeky auto filter. Could brighten the site up a bit
I wonder if the decision would have been the same had it been Town of Castle Rock v Johnson? Jessica (Lenahan) Gonzalez and a photo of her three daughters.
Right. The first Sheriff's departments in the US were basically slave catchers https://naacp.org/find-resources/history-explained/origins-modern-day-policing
Every republican in America should be forced to view what I assume are incredible graphic crime scene photos. Look at the carnage and if they still believe there's nothing that can be done to save innocent 5-10 year olds, then I hope they don't believe in an after life.
“That guy definitely would have mowed us down “ well he probably shouldn’t have access to that weapon
Probably the juvenile record mentioned and glossed over during the initial press conference on Wed. I would not be shocked if they knew why he had a juvenile record but intentionally withholding that information in fear of backlash.
My only realistic hope is this moves the DNC away from any more "reach across the aisle" bullshit. The gun cult is a large one, but it is exactly that, a cult. They all have this incredibly bizarre religious devotion to firearms. It's psychotic. You can't bargain with it. We need to stop gaslighting ourselves that there is anything there that we can make purchase with through normal policy making process. Or that there's some mutual understanding within reach. These people are sick. We need to move past them entirely.
so, and I might have brought this up yesterday, but one of those videos that guy streamed to his facebook outside of the school that day, one of the San Antonio swat team guys there said the shooter had killed himself. Not Border Patrol. I still suspect that's true.
