I'm quoting the article. The article doesn't quote anybody.
I think that’s what he’s asking though. Who gave them credit in the first place and why haven’t we heard more about it?
I don't know, but that article is pretty thorough and indicates that anything that present as facts have been confirmed from video/documents, and they mention Border Patrol doing the final assault numerous times.
Reading it, sounds like the Troopers that responded at least wanted to go in, but the City/School cops kept turning people away. Can't believe they didn't just take over.
And one of those city cops comes in there to say his wife, one of the teachers, called him to say that she had been shot, and they still don't go in. Not even for a colleague's wife.
Edit - I’m wrong about this.
I made a similar post yesterday. I think the border patrol hero story is completely made up.
Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it says at the end about the breach, and then says all can be heard is a volley of gunfire. I assumed that meant they saw the agents go in but nothing after that. Idk?
It's on the timeline made for testimony today. So seems to be true.
Yeah, I read it wrong the first time.
Eleven officers – including Uvalde school district police chief Pete Arredondo – were inside Robb Elementary within three minutes of a gunman entering on May 24, a law enforcement source close to the investigation tells CNN, as new reports provide a closer look at what officers were doing as they waited more than an hour to confront the shooter.
After the gunman fired at officers and holed up in connecting classrooms 111 and 112, where he shot and killed 19 students and two teachers, officers remained stationed in an adjacent hallway.
Man that is infuriating.
So they listened to the kids screams and sounds of kids getting shot and sat there?
not sure if they could hear the kids' screams over their own weeping.
Fucking cowards. Sick fucking cowards.
Is that not standard procedure or have missed something
Imagine how many children and maybe teachers could have been saved if rescuers could have started CPR and getting them to hospitals in minutes. Oh my fucking Christ.
I don’t know how these families cope with that. Fuck fuck fuck fuck.
I bet those piece of shit cops wouldn’t have pissed their pants for an hour if he didn’t have a gun. Shit the teachers would have stood a chance of stopping him.
He could have used a damn musket with the amount of time the police gave him.
I'm 100% for the ban just to be clear.
Oh I don't know idiot. Maybe your LEOs wouldn't have pissed their pants and been too scared to go in and kill the kid if he had a bat.
This seems so much worse than Parkland. I don't see how these guys don't get charged with something. EVERY SINGLE REVELATION is worse than the last.
I'm sure this has already been referenced in this thread - but I didn't realize how bad the entry was in Orlando until talking to a gay friend after Uvalde happened.
He told me 3 hours and I couldn't believe that was possible and not covered more by national media (that's on me).
It was 3 hours.
THEY LIED TO US?!?!
If there was ever a clear and obvious event to use as support for defunding the police, this is it. Holy shit these cops are fucking terrible at their job
I wish it was pointed out that this force gets 40% of their city’s budget and be able to explain that the goal should not be to give these assholes more money when they ask.
An underreported national story is then being given jurisdiction over ANY section of being 100 miles from a border, so essentially border patrol can now go to any directional border, west, east or south. I’d add north but Canada has white people so they won’t fuck with them.
https://www.aclu.org/other/constitu...er Patrol can operate immigration checkpoints.
FWIW - that ruling came down because of a case on the Canadian border. Border Patrol was harassing a legal Turkish visitor and the owner of the hotel got between them. Border patrol roughed him up a little bit and then threatened him for reporting it.
SCOUTS ruled ...¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This is starting to sound more like the cover up is to protect them from being found out being fucking cowards.
Perhaps he should read the transcript of Arredondo’s call where he demands officers surround the building with AR-15s and swat before he engaged because the shooter had an AR-15 while the cops on site only had pistols.
Good thing AR-15s are everywhere. Can you imagine how long it would have taken to surround the building with baseball bats?
I’m certain this fuck is just panicking and pissing his diapers and misspeaking but “we’re surrounded” is such massive bullshit.
Holy shit if that's true.
Also, pretty clear the political move here is to concentrate blame on Arredondo to circumvent the very apparent reality that every LEO there was an unforgivable coward
I guess this is the kind of shit that happens when you use Reno 911 as your training videos.
Motion to relegate them from “first responders” to “eventual responders”.
How has this guy not resigned yet?
They’ll eventually pay him for life to retire
Usually when cops say they acted one way due to being scared, nothing ever happens to them
Not sure why this will be different
Because a lot of innocent kids were killed due to their cowardice?
Do you even America?
This situation isn't like a lot of others, so not sure how that matters.
Did the cops hide in the corner during Parkland or Columbine?
Every time a cop “fears for his/her life” a brown person dies.
You had to fuck up something fierce to create a scenario in the court of public opinion that you’re more of the villain that the actual elementary school shooter.
