Punisher cop checking his phone was allegedly the one whose wife was texting him that she was dying, and he had to be physically removed from the building. Punisher logo still sucks, but I’ll give him a pass for being on the phone.
“he attempted to engage but was removed from the building and disarmed.” I’ll wait for more info on this, considering the copaganda that has consistently been proven wrong, but something to consider when discussing moving forward. I’m not going to watch the video. Does it show him attempting to get in at all? How long is he on camera staring at his phone?
He appears early on and then seems to not be in view of that camera after a couple of minutes. Isn't forcibly removed. Just walks out of frame and doesn't seem to return from what I watched.
If my wife was as risk you’d have to fucking kill me or alternatively I live for my child and light up the system
Maybe he tried to get back in and was restrained after causally leaving the hallway. But he was there, cowering around that corner for a long time and didn’t attempt to do shit.
Weird how he appeared to have the most casual/relaxed body language of all the cops gathered around doing nothing. Makes you wonder how much he really loved his wife, or if this is, yet again, more bullshit.
At ~9:00 it looks like he gets a call on his phone and ignores it. Then he walks down the hall, and comes back. Then he kind of starts pacing. Then leaves again ~10:00
even if he had to be restrained from trying to get his wife, it doesn’t excuse him in the least. he was perfectly ok with waiting around and doing nothing as kids were dying before he decided to care because it impacted him personally
So he was in the building his wife was stuck in with a shooter for minutes just waiting casually for a text or phone call? like wouldn’t he be frantically wanting to check on her the second he gets in?
You guys aren't being fair! You're asking him to value the life of a teacher over the life of a cop and our society has made it pretty clear the lives of cops are more valuable and important than pretty much anyone else.
Yeah this is where I’m confused too. He has to know that she’s in there regardless of her texting that she’s actually been shot. The second he’s there he can make a run for it and he’s armed
I’m going to assume cops are the ones that said he was forcibly removed and disarmed? They’ve been extremely trustworthy with their versions so far so I don’t know why we wouldn’t believe this.
This video being released should at least have one positive outcome. It undeniably ends the argument of having armed security guards at schools as the solution to gun violence. If 20+ armed police officers (some with ballistic gear) react this way to a lone teenager with an AR-15, it’s insane to think one or two guys with a low-paying security job are going to respond any different (see Parkland). Guess that’s why the bulletproof pods are the new strategy. Probably made/sold by the same weapons manufacturers or one of their subsidiaries.
After watching how some of those mothers reacted compared to the police officers, I would probably take my chances with one Suzy Teacher rather than 20 Officer PissPants.
A bunch of kids were murdered while cops stood around doing nothing. Why should he be well and not angry about the situation? I really hate the people who try and be moralists in these situations because they have nothing to add or don’t want to face a hard truth.
I’m not being a moralist in these situations. He’s not in a constant state of anger and aggression. He’s redirecting his temporary anger at me, which he’s welcome to do, but it will ultimately serve no purpose other than the sudden catharsis one gets from writing ‘gotcha’ comments on the internet.
More bad faith talk without any sort of explanation. Sounds about right. I’ve expressed anger and frustration at this whole situation, from those cowardly cops to truth having to be found out instead of freely give. It’s obviously terrible. So why would any of you, when I say that pnk$krtcrÿnästÿ should redirect his anger elsewhere, think I was talking about him directing his anger about the incident or the cops? He was, most likely, directing it at me, by alluding to me being the friend of one of these people, which I am not. You’re all free to message me individually and voice your frustrations, but what’s the point in doing it in this thread, other than to be seen doing it?
It did actually seem like those first 3 officers that arrived initially planned on doing the right thing. They just became complete and total cowards when they took fire. They were right there at that classroom and then retreated to leave kids to die. I don't know how they can live with themselves. Total 180 from that cop at the grocery store in Colorado.
Couple takes after watching the video: 1. The cops know nothing changes with this situation regardless (gun laws etc), so they give even less of a fuck about doing their job and just preserving themselves. (Not letting cops off the hook but saying the black pilled nature of the situation nationally is making this even worse). 2. How much worse is the next school shooter now that he's seen that video? They are going to make a game out of seeing how bad they can make cops look
3. I intellectually understood the details of the story, but nothing prepared me for watching that POS walk down the hall with rifle in hand looking for elementary school kids. I mean, goddam. There's fingerpaintings on the wall
I’m always surprised we’ve never seen someone walk into a police station with a rifle, shit they do that in Mexico all the time
Well, you offered up these privileged supposed first hand accounts from people you knew and trusted and turned out to be almost completely false. In fact, were they even there? Could they even tell the fucking truth about that part? I'm not sure why you'd put any sort of trust in those people. And you only denounce them in the obliquest of terms, which sorta makes me question your genuineness. I'm not PMing you because this thread is where this conversation is and started. Not trying to "be seen" doing anything. I'm looking for some clarity on why these LEO contacts would lie so egregiously about even being there, why you would trust a word out of their mouths in the first place, and if you even believe there's a problem with accountability in LE.
I’ve said that a person I spoke with was friends with two of the people who entered the room and shot the killer. One was an EMT that responded and the other was SRT that showed up after the shooter was killed. I’ve already replied concerning the information I was given. If clarity is what you sought, then why would you not ask for clarity in a way that wasn’t glib or antagonizing?
I think, dbl, that you’re being disingenuous. You can call it copaganda, but I’ve stated both my misunderstanding and not wanting to pursue questions I had when faced with consoling a good friend. Plenty of fury and anger to be placed on the people responsible for this, I’m not sure my pound of flesh will sate you, or BudKilmer, or pnk$krtcrÿnästÿ
This framing is fucking insane. Also, the gunman shot at 2 good samaritans who attempted to help him after he crashed his grandmother’s truck. So if an officer refused to take a shot at a gunman heading into a school, he refused to do so even AFTER the gunman fired shots. There is absolutely nothing the cops won’t lie about.
