i haven't tried it but i know you definitely can summon him again. you miiiight have to find one of the other elder spawn at worst.
ah that explains why eikthyr's altar is in multiple places on my map... thank ya. now onto trying to find a swamp. hey also, unless it's like some awesome spoilery thing, how do i go about not freezing in mountain zones? Is that just later game stuff i should wait to unlock or am i just missing like one craftable item from knowing the recipe to keep me warm or something?
ah bloodbag dropped by leeches in the swamp...next up. k. also any gear i can craft later on that just makes me warm instead of having to constantly consume that stuff?
pc only. dont think they currently have plans to put it on console after early access is over but that could change.
Got some friends together to make a village. Coming along pretty nicely. Spoilers up to and including boss 4 below Spoiler
That’s awesome. When the game goes live, I might like to join in on the fun unless you’re keeping it tight knit. I just beat it solo and while it was a fun experience, I do want to experience playing with others.
Shields, blunt weapons, bow, and a cart. farm as much iron as you can in each swamp crypt and anytime you see a wraith or whatever they’re called at night, Kill it for the chains
If I see you on I'll shoot you a message. I'm hosting the server as dedicated so it's up 24/7. The clock/progression pauses when no one is online.
Still playing and enjoying the game a good bit but fuck sometimes it's frustrating. I finally mined some Iron but it's a pretty good boat ride away near a portal. So the last 2 times I've tried to take the boat there a Sea Serpent has attacked me, I've harpooned it - dragged it to the bank which is a black forest and as soon as I pull that fucker up on land I get surrounded by grey things which isn't too bad but then a fucking troll shows up. The first time I fend them off while the Serpent destroys my boat and my nails are lost so I have to slow raft it back. The second time I try to get the Serpant and dodge everything else and end up dying to the troll... while I was carrying all my extra nails to build a 2nd boat if a Serpent destroyed my first one. Fuck. Have to mine, get nails, go back to my body and hopefully my first boat, get my shit then try to go grab the Iron.
If you shoot the serpent with arrows and try and escape they will leash eventually. You can also kill it with arrows. It might be worth setting up a small outpost near you and just do your smelting there. That way your trips are more consolidated. What I ended up doing was moving my expensive forge materials with me. I made sure my final outpost was on a landmass that included plains and swamp and got lucky in that it had a mountain as well. And that outpost slowly turned into my main base.
I thought about doing this last night, my main base is near where I started on the coast. Where I recently found Iron is very close to some black forests, a couple of large swamps, and a yet to be explored but looks to be quite a large mountain biome. May just move my main base down there as I'll be spending a lot more time in those areas and tbh taking the boat is a slow pain in the ass.
You’ll want a main base nearby a mountain biome. I don’t want to spoil it for you but I think your plan is a good one.
I'm assuming it will go to PS4/5 once it's out of early access. Have they given any updates on when the full release is? Played it for a bit on my laptop that is not at all equipped to play games and had a lot of fun even though it ran like shit for me
not hitting the spot for me. was playing with friends... maybe solo i'd enjoy it more but perhaps im just in mood for another type of game currently.
I played it with a buddy. Really hard going from plains to mistlands to be honest. The terrain is brutal but it’s a great update.
yeah seems chock full of stuff, but completely agree. hell just finding a place to guide my boat to park was awful when i first went to it last night, then i just keep falling off cliffs or unable to get up to flat land anywhere since all the cliffs are 90 degrees up. had to throw down the mist fountain but couldn't find an "open space" for a long time, which is so easy to find when fog covers everything. all around just unforgiving step up in difficulty when you're coming from flat land.
