Don't the outtakes only show if you're watching on HBOGo or On Demand? I don't think they show if you're just watching/recording straight off HBO
Correct. It's on Demand/HBOGo, but definitely worth a watch. A lot of their outtakes are better than almost anything you see on any other show.
"Any news on Sherman?" "CNN and Fox News both say he's critical, but Fox says it with blonder hair and bigger tits."
I keep trying to to tell people to watch this show. I think it is probably the best show on TV right now. It can't be overstated how great the writing has been. Absolutely hilarious.
I think SV is a tiny bit funnier but both are the best comedies on TV right now (including Netflix, Hulu, etc) and its not even close
I like SV, but I don't think it's even close to Veep, which is more a compliment to Veep than a commentary on Silicon Valley.
I agree. Veep is like machine gun fire with the hysterical lines of dialogue. Silicon Valley is great but doesn't keep pace.
My wife and I were saying the same thing about Veep. Sometimes the lines go so fast you're still laughing from the last one that you miss the next.
Paraphrasing but right after Selena got out of surgery with her 2 black eyes, Ben comes in and says, "You look like a southern wife who just got done burning the fried chicken." Laughed for easily 5 minutes.
Amazing episode. I died laughing at Jonah running into the ad screening and Mike yelling cunt into his phone on the quiet car.
Far and away. Jonah running for Congress has been as great as the idea promised. Excited to get Deitrich Bader back as Dan/Jonah's foe. Cuntgate. Catherine and Marjorie both expressionless, yet geeked out of their minds. Just perfect TV.
Holy shit when they are book shopping and Charlie gets the Chapter 11 call from Tom the books in the background are "Liar In Chief".
This episode drug on................ .................. because I had to keep rewinding when my laughter drowned out the next hilarious piece of dialogue.
The best show on television delivers a tour de force. The Funeral was exceptional, but I think Cuntgate topped it. My favorite moment in the episode was Jonah's uncle pitching the cancer joke for his stump speech and then he alone dying in the audience when Jonah toned it down. "You fucking goon" absolutely murdered me. Dan and Jonah winning New Hampshire and setting up a scenario in which Jonah Hill is Kingmaker is the absolute dream story right now. Can never say enough about how truly great this show is. I think it's a top 5 all time comedy that gets about 1/10 of the respect it deserves.
The focus group was hilarious too. "I really liked the kid. .....But I didn't like that he was next to that guy."
I fucking died at Jonah chasing the kid in the commercial. The actors on this show have to have some thick skin, because the writers just eviscerate them. Jonah didn't look so bad when Dan make him go with the corporate combover and glasses, though. The whole New Hampshire speech scene was great. Can't wait to rewatch.
The entire focus group scene was just delicious. I think I watched it 5 times because I couldn't stop laughing over the jokes.
A Different Drummer Posted on December 1, 2016 - 1 Comment One of the most impressive skills in music is drummers who can sing. And of the singing drummers in rock, I feel like there is one who just towers over the rest: Jimmy Marinos of the Romantics. Not to disparage anyone else’s skills, but it’s like it’s Marinos, and then everybody else. I mean, the Romantics’ eponymous debut album was like the Sgt. Pepper of ’70s/’80s power pop. That being said, I guess you could include Ringo Starr in the pantheon of singing drummers. Yeah, probably should, I mean, “Octopus’s Garden” is pretty stellar stuff. I’d still give the nod to Marinos, though. Just based on body of work.
