I started cackling as Gary was searching for Selena, knowing what he was about to walk in on. Then I lost it at his reaction.
"... another angry voicemail from Tom Petty's people" The congresswoman leaves the party with the purse Furlong's aide is so whipped and conditioned that on cue he recites the vulgar insult Furlong intended to reference him with Mike doubling back "just to make sure" Mike failing to "tell time" again Mike approaching his friend and we all know exactly what is about to happen. the LPGA closing Selina picking on Kathryn's hair Hipflask
It's incredible that they can add two characters the level of Jonah's uncle and the guy with Alzheimer's at the beginning of the season. Jonah's uncle is hilarious- he had some lines in the post-episode out takes that were just vicious.
Jonah: Does that work? Dan: If you don't look like some melted Play-doh all over a flag pole it does.
Jonah warming up to Dan is fabulous. How the show gets a girl with Down syndrome on the show and then blasts her like that is unreal. They don't give two shits about being PC and I love it.
jonah's uncle calling him a shaved sasquatch destroyed me he may be one of my fav background characters
I know a lot of people were worried when Iannucci left the show but this might be its best season yet.
When he was bragging that he could get anyone elected in New Hampshire, and the woman was just all like "You're drunk"
"On the bright side, you're only three points behind some guy named Jon H Ryan." Richard's bit lines continue to kill it.
I thought after Cuntgate this show couldn't make a better episode. They immediately proved me wrong. The entire series of snafus with the gifts, culminating in the reaction to Katherine's lezbo make out session was amazing.
Mina completely ruining Selina's day obliviously is a great recurring device. "The Chinese really loved that ceremonial pen." "Uh, yeah, never mind...." "Yes? The pen from The Hague..." "CATHERINE IS AWARE OF THE PEN."
"Giving birth to her was such a bitch" "Is it because you have a narrow vagina" "We call it tight in America"
Haha almost choked on my dinner with The good news, you're only 3 points behind Jon H Ryan, whoever that is.
Had some friends over for cookout this weekend and we were talking TV shows. A couple friends watch Thrones and silicon Valley, and then turn off HBO. A couple others only watch Thrones. Only one other person watched veep. WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THIS COUNTRY?!?! I can't fathom not watching this show every week. And I tell anyone and everyone to check it out, but for whatever reason, there's a hesitation to getting into this show. I don't know if people see "political" and bail. Or if they're subhuman and don't love jld. It just bottles the mind
I think it's a JLD thing. I've told numerous people about this show who've come back at me with either "Yeah, but I can't stand JLD" or "I hated Seinfeld." Even telling them this show is nothing at all—like, at all—like Seinfeld, and that JLD's character is nothing at all like Elaine doesn't bring them on board.
If someone tells me they don't like Seinfeld then any and all further conversation about TV with them is discontinued.
I was so curious why I was tagged itt. I'm actually listening to a podcast with a writer from VEEP. Crazy. Dont watch this show, but plan on it. My hate for Seinfeld comes more from people who feel the need to quote it all the time in every situation. I liked it. Just didnt love it the way most did.
I've heard things from they just couldnt get into after a couple episodes to that they just don't like political comedy
First season was good but not as great as the others. Once Ben enters the picture it's just an echelon above anything else right now
