Got into a bit of YouTube hole this morning and found some nostalgia and some pretty cool shit. Please feel free to add
score =/= soundtrack that being said... Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 (most others in the series too really) Madden throughout the 2000s Brutal Legend (just the absolute best)
Bad thread title but I really just wanted a place to drop original music from games. Do admit that THPS2 had a bomb ass soundtrack
Brutal Legend's use of Mr. Crowley during a certain cutscene is probably the single greatest usage of music in a video game that I have ever seen.
Absolutely. That was the first story centric fps i ever played. That sequence gave me chills. Another terrific example of perfect music usage in gaming.
got that Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection and started playing Sonic 3 last night, loved how as soon as a song would hit I'd instantly remember everything about it, ended up going down the Sonic rabbit hole afterwards this little number just gets me also
I don’t remember playing MVP Baseball 04 that much, but I must’ve bc I nostalgia’d hard over this soundtrack.
I prefer the classics. All the old Mario’s, sonic, Zelda, punch out; etc Mass Effect did a good job with sci fi type mood
felt the urge to pop this back in last night and decided on giving Comix Zone a go, was head bobbing the entire time, just so awesomely 90's
Madden 10's soundtrack is absolutely ridiculous btw https://vgost.fandom.com/wiki/Madden_NFL_10 They put a song from Mastodon's weird concept album Crack the Skye on a Madden soundtrack and it ripped
Another one from the rushing attack, I think from 05 Earshot wasn't and isn't shit but that song ripped when I was trying to 5 star the hard rushing attack or w/e
If the music was the only thing it had going for it, I'd still recommend it. Luckily, everything else about the game is fantastic as well.
I'll throw Death Stranding in the mix. Game might not be for everybody, but man is the music fucking beautiful. Also, Alan Wake Remastered. Full, moody songs at the end of each chapter and scattered throughout really made it a nice experience
