Set over a thousand years ago in the early 11th century, VIKINGS: VALHALLA chronicles the heroic adventures of some of the most famous Vikings who ever lived — the legendary explorer Leif Eriksson (Sam Corlett), his fiery and headstrong sister Freydis Eriksdotter (Frida Gustavsson), and the ambitious Nordic prince Harald Sigurdsson (Leo Suter). As tensions between the Vikings and the English royals reach a bloody breaking point and as the Vikings themselves clash over their conflicting Christian and pagan beliefs, these three Vikings begin an epic journey that will take them across oceans and through battlefields, from Kattegat to England and beyond, as they fight for survival and glory. Vikings: Valhalla launches February 25th, only on Netflix.
The hairstyles, beards and all together “cleanliness” of the Vikings is my biggest hangup. Other than that it’s good. First series had Vikings walking around how Vikings would look.
I have a hard time not reading the history as sadly it gives away pretty much everything Love this shit though
Same. I did the same with the first series but they changed up a bunch (Bjorn) so maybe they do it with this one as well. Really enjoying it
Original Vikings and last kingdom were my 2 favorite Viking shows, think this was best season of any of them.
I love all these but as far as best Ragnar>>>>>>>everyone else. Floki just about ruined the original series for me.
Original season was pretty awesome with Ragnar, Rollo, Lagertha, and Gabrielle Bryne’s character All 3 are great shows and may be recency bias saying that was my favorite but best TV I’ve watched in a while
Yall better be careful before talking bad about last kingdom. I will die on the hill defending it That being said, once you know who died the show wasn't as captivating
After watching this, even though none of the characters are the same I definitely think you should watch original Vikings before this. Gives you a good understanding of England and the move there as well as the history of Kattegat
Floki's character was the shit until the end of the show when he lost his mind and did the whole Floki-Island thing.
Oh the downward spiral started in the Paris attack when the French shit all over his attack plan. IIRC the following season is when he killed his christian enemy and then got sent to the torture cave. Once his daughter died he was full on looney and the rest of his character's story was a legit waste of screen time. It's like they took every bad minor character that was in Kattegat and sent them to Greenland with Floki. There wasn't a single scene in that ordeal that was worth a shit. Only complaint I had about the entire series honestly. Like half an episode focused on whose tiny square parcel of land the dead whale washed up onto....
Yeah doing a rewatch and just on season 2 and that whole storyline was worthless. No point. Show them landing there and that’s all that’s needed.
Figured this belongs in here. Docuseries on Nat Geo. Started up a couple weeks ago. "Vikings: Rise and Fall" follows a crucial change of perspective. The series looks at the history of the Norsemen from the perspective of Norse mythology and at the same time provides insights into the latest bioarchaeological investigations. The range of topics ranges from the attack on the northern English monastery of Lindisfarne and the founding of Kievan Rus to the siege of Constantinople, the journey to America and the conquest of the English kingdom in 1066. I’m watching the original and enjoying it. However I get frustrated every time the show ends with some BS music and not the Immigrant Song.
