While the McDonald's bag story is funny and all, the fact that it's carrying the headlines is a huge win for Tennessee.
https://utsports.com/sports/football/roster/john-henderson/12210 safe to say based on the HS section that he would have been a 5 star. Number 7 overall in the one ranking, tons of all American honors and the top player in the state of Tennessee.
Their Board of Trustees hired a law firm to create cause for firing their coach. The more everyone focuses on the McDonald's bag rumor, the more it turns into Pruitt deserving to be fired.
Didn’t make 1st, 2nd or 3rd team all sec guess it’s just me but given the hype he had coming in I’d think vol fans would be disappointed if he ends his career there just “pretty solid”
People still know UT cheated and they're a dumpster fire. This does bury the self-investigation angle though
That should be the story. That's what's remarkable about this case. I think that any school who did a self investigation and revealed all of the results would find similar shit. The NCAA's access limitations allow everyone to cheat. It's the expectation.
The NCAA doesn't have subpoena power. Unless it has cooperating witnesses and/or the school allows them to investigate, they can't do shit.
I haven’t kept up with the SEC scandals, but is LSU clear of NCAA fire since they self imposed scholarship reductions and a bowl ban? Seems like a huge shift if both Tennessee and LSU get hit at the same time.
The NCAA hammer has yet to drop on LSU. They may take some cues from UT on how to get rid of Orgeron, though.
There was a decent amount of smoke speculating that Ohio State tried to hire away Corey Raymond as a Co-DC and DB coach in 2018 and 2019. I would love to see him reconsider.
I’m going to need a Facebook live Keith state of the union with a gorgeous background to respond to these allegations for old times sake
They can and will punish a player though. See Sharife Cooper’s dad refusing to disclose his personal finances to the NCAA as an example. Time for the power 5 to tell them to fuck off and handle their own compliance.
Gotta say I’m shocked that a cop is refusing to admit they were wrong and is digging those heels in despite everyone with a functioning brain knowing different
Sources informed FootballScoop that Steele, officially the Vols’ interim coach following the program’s Monday firing of Jeremy Pruitt amidst both an internal and external investigation, is moving to reunite with veteran defensive assistant Rodney Garner. Garner is expected to return to Rocky Top as the Vols’ defensive line coach, if Tennessee can finalize the deal. He also in that scenario reunites with Steele, with whom he has just finished working alongside at Auburn – Garner’s alma mater
So they are going to pay fulmer for 3 years his full salary to do nothing just to keep his legacy in tact while giving themselves sanctions just to save a few million on pruitts buyout? All to hire Kevin Steele as the HC? That’s just horrible.
