I'll clarify that the motive is speculation but it's definitely known that the victim liked young (presumingly of-age) men and was also known to catfish on Tinder. the motive makes sense under those circumstances but we'll see what turns up, I guess. police have said the victim and Etute knew one another but didn't clarify beyond that so I don't know if they're claiming actual prior knowledge of each other or if they're just counting the Tinder stuff.

no, that's definitely a valid theory. either one makes sense just depending on how you slant his sexuality. if he's gay then he would presumably not be out yet and the guy maybe threatened to out him. if he's straight then he just lost his mind after being catfished (and probably a solid dose of homophobia).

the more I read of this the worse it sounds all over. the victim was openly gay and known to be very predatory of the college students. several people claiming he was fired at multiple jobs for sexual harassment, others claiming he has roofied people at certain establishments. the victim was apparently well known in the "scene" at VT regardless which in and of itself is a bit weird since he is 20+ years older than those kids. the catfishing stuff seems beyond fact, people even knew the name he used (Angie Renee) because he tied all his various social media to the same phone number and address. also of note is the VA legislature recently just passed prohibition on the so-called "gay panic" defense so that is not going to be a thing come trial. and I feel like this shouldn't need to be said but I'll say it anyway: in no way, shape, or form did the victim deserve his death and in no way, shape, or form am I trying to use anything put forward in the above or previous posts as a justification for his murder. like I said, it just sounds bad all over.
this all could look infinitely worse in the near-future depending on those forthcoming arrests and the charges. if he had accomplices, hoo boy.

I have not seen it but from what I've read if it's a FB page with like 1000+ friends and they're all young men then that's the right one. apparently came from a good area, parents do really well. didn't have to pay for college so they gifted him a nice car.

there are 3, one has about 5,000 friends that are mainly younger men it appears. Another has almost 2,000 friends and the 3rd has 1,100 friends all have very few pictures of the same woman and certainly give off catfish/scammer vibes
