Should be less expensive tomorrow assuming it opens over $200 I may buy some $75 puts expiring Friday
They bought all the shares of GameStop that the hedge fund(s) was trying to sell cheap. And now are driving up the price for them to buy them back and sending them into bankruptcy* *I think
They were the ones that caused the price to rise to $900+. And because they knew you tried to scalp them, they kept raising the price knowing you'll have to buy one when the person you pre-sold it to will come for it on a certain date.
in this case they would be the ones who found out that people were selling PS5s without having them so they went out and bought them all so the eBay sellers would have to crawl back to them
Meaning that they are going to pump the value of it up? I’m not interested in playing the short game until I fully understand it, but I’m good with jumping on some likely pump and dumps.
This is entertaining and all, but you’re crazy if you don’t think that it’s going going to result in some serious regulation on retail investing. The game is rigged so the billionaires win in the end.
Its not all pump and dump over there. Or it wasn't before this. Often times someone would post a DD like they would in any regular investing subreddit or forum post. The WSB thing was to YOLO the shit out of it instead of just making prudent investments. Like moving all their funds from one thing to the next chasing more organic gains. Now though, well, 600k new people have joined in under a week so who the fuck knows anymore.
Honestly, its fun as shit to buy meme stocks and watch them grow like crazy day after day. TSLA, $NIO, BB (Blackberry), PLUG have done more for my lame ass portfolio than the old school blue chips ever have.
I'm in a longterm monogamy commitment with S&P500 / index funds but this is very entertaining to follow.
This whole situation has been interesting to watch play out. What's scary is someone is going to be left holding the bag - beyond those already burned - and when that happens, not everyone is going to have a fellow friendly hedge fund pal there to bail them out.
I'm just laughing thinking that there's probably some Sr. Analyst sitting in his Manhattan apartment right now whose dad was an MD at Goldman Sachs, who went to an elite prep school in CT, who graduated from Wharton after their dad wrote a mid-six figure check to get him in, who worked for a chill IBD group at Goldman their dad got him into, who thought he was going to make millions shorting stocks after leaving Goldman for Melvin Capital at the end of the year, who is going to be out of a job in a couple weeks because Reddit toppled his $20 bn fund in a week and this is the first thing to ever go wrong in his life.
What's your feel on AMC, gonna be a similar ride the next week? Asking for a friend. Me. Tell me where to waste some money
Some people just got an expensive lesson in pre market trading have a feeling a lot of people are going to get an expensive lesson tomorrow afternoon too I don’t pretend to be gods gift to investing but if you’re thinking about jumping into these tomorrow please just do it with money you can afford to lose
This is wildly accurate, went to Deerfield, has place in the Hamptons, “summers” at end of the world in Montauk So cringe, but LMAOOOOO
Moon, you short selling fuck. (I don't have any GME, I just wanted to express the sentiment of WSB.) I agree though. My brother bought in with 30k when it was $110 2 days ago and it dropped to $80 by the end of the day. He flipped the fuck out. I bought at $27 and sold at $65. I was happy. Both my brother and our mutual friend sent me gifs and emojis all day expressing their happiness it went back up. Neither will sell in time and end up jaded as fuck. My brother to this day whines he didn't buy bitcoin at $400 when I told him it was the play. I'll hear about GME until I'm 90 when he held until it is at @ $60.
The arrogance of still being bearish on GameStop is amazing to see from hedge funds. They're already crying to regulators to fix the mess they've gotten caught in
I like that one dude tried to step in and right the ship with fucking $2b but then oops and it's gone
