Spoiler free discussion of recent episodes in this thread. First two episodes debut on 1/15.
I will just say... wait until next week. First 2 eps are fun but things don't really get going until after 3
It's going to be so weird and great!
When does this take place in the MCU. Vision didn’t die in the snap, so this can’t be after IW, right?
Not seeing students today (exam week), so I just started at work.
Got so giddy at the opening Marvel sequence!
Vision died before the snap
Fun, but largely uneventful first 2 episodes.
Episode 2. Classic Bettany nailing the comedy
Kathryn Hahn is a damn scene stealer
fsuNizz told us this
episode 3 is where shit starts
Just finished the first two and I’m loving it.
Kid is staying with his grandfather tonight; super hyped to get into it.
So who’s seen it, can we start theorizing?
I’m spoiler if this one but after it I’m cutting lose
So clues thus far. Stark is toast. Strucker will make time for you. Vision eating it gummed up the works. Creepy for the children thing. Someone is trying to get Wanda to stop, someone is trying to find Wanda. The color change at the end is a step toward altering reality?
I think the rules are "spoilers in the Marvel thread, spoiler free here"
I know I just didn’t want anyone to Wander in aimlessly like I said no spoilers moving forward
That had zero appeal for kids which was an interesting choice for their Disney+ series debut.
Are we spoilering theories/Easter eggs? The name on the watch, the symbol on the helicopter, the neighbor, the guy in the sewer, the “commercials”, etc. Seems like each episode had 50 Easter eggs.
Yeah helicopter was a sword reference right?
What was the deal with sewer dude?
One of the three that I saw
Yup. Seemed to pick up in the second episode, like the direction it's headed in.
There's also a "no referring to Wanda in a southern accent" rule
what were the other 2?
I love her
notebook at the end of the first episode when it showed someone watching.
Who was the beekeeper?
the beekeeper is an AIM reference it seems.
She was so good in The Goods
Pretty sure he had a SWORD logo as well
A guess for Hahn... (and I don't know shit)
Also - as a non comic reader and a person who hasnt rewatched any of the movies, I'll be asking a lot of dumb questions itt
Advanced Idea Mechanics. Hydra’s RnD division. They created the cosmic cube (non-infinity stone comic version) and MODOK, who goes on to lead the group. They wear hazmat suits that make them look like beekeepers with a plasma gun.
100% no doubt. That’s who I assumed she was before it debuted but after those episodes is a ‘confirmed’ for me.
And the intro opening Marvel theme transitioning into a 50s sitcom vibe by the end was :chefskiss:
I keep trying to figure out why SWORD? Between Wanda, the neighbor, and the future bad guy no ones extraterrestrial. If anything you think it would be Strange getting involved since they’re all mystic beings.
Am I crazy or was color in episode two very subtly switching between pure Greyscale and something a but more muted sepia?
Just read an article explaining a lot of the Easter eggs and good lord I’m never gonna know what’s going on in this show without reading about the episodes after I watch em
Enjoyed it but no clue wtf if going on
Man, so many theories in my head. I’ll let the internet do the majority of the heavy lifting but from first watch there were so many Easter eggs I’m sure there’s a ton under the surface.
Doesn't SWORD have a more focus on attacking threats and I think they're trying to figure out who is after Wanda and what they want with her.
that’s Woo on the radio for sure after the second episode.
I have a theory that the x gene is triggered from this season, but who knows.
Also curious about Wanda’s “NO!” And rewinds time. Is that her not wanting to leave or someone who has her controlled
yeah this is going to be a show we go back to (or just let random twitter posts do the work for us) after it's over and notice all the subtle bits of foreshadowing planted along the way.
SWORD is the non-Earth version of SHIELD. They’re there to protect against extraterrestrial threats to Earth.
I keep staring at the design on Visions tie in Ep 1 but have no clue what it means.
Yea but I figured they are more on the offensive?
I need to start reading the new sword issues
also, is Woo now SWORD?
Rewatch neighbor theory:
Agnes is wearing a brooch just like Witch Agatha always does in Ep 1. It’s clear where they’re going with this series. Now when we meet the big bad or IF we’ve already met him is the question.
I hope in the 80's-themed episode we get someone like Robert Downy Jr. recording the line "WandaVision is filmed before a live studio audience" before the show starts.
nah. I wish
