They can’t come and go as they want. There are restrictions against transferring mid-season. The prospect of a school going all in to win a championship every few years is awesome.
Literally every one? If players wanted to negotiate one year deals and change teams every offseason, is there any league that wouldn’t allow them to do so?
You already assuming dbl is returning to Auburn? Because this looks like bammer on bammer violence to me
I’m sure if you did a poll over in champs, most would tell you they don’t consider him a bammer. Auburn, Florida, anything but Bama
Is that because he's been suddenly excommunicated because he's reacted negatively towards Saban's testimony
Nah it’s been that way for awhile, but considering all Nick Saban has done with habit for humanity, Nicks Kids, standing with his players for blm, and all the countless other things he’s done for Tuscaloosa. Nobody takes you serious when you say fuck Nick Saban, and still claim you’re a Bama fan, just because you might not agree with his position on fixing football.
DBL is a Bama fan when it suits him but ultimately he cares way more about catering to the groupthink of TMB more than anything else, just like most of this thread
Blindly agreeing with someone bc they played/coached for the team you root for is sad tbh. Think for yourself. Use your own brain. Yet I'm the one that's always labeled a homer smh
Id argue that repeatedly posting a dishonest summarization of events position to appease a bunch of message board posters is equally sad but what to do I know? You got a series of responses in the champs thread that you didnt like and didnt respond to so you instead chose to run back in here
No one cares more about strangers approval online than dbl. Despite him being a bandwagon Alabama fan, he’s bigger a fan of others’ approval. Therefore groupthink in this scenario is him saying things he thinks you all like. He fails to realize he’s Sisyphus and he’s never going to get the approval, the ball might get close but he’ll never actually reach the top.
When I think of dblply, I definitely think of a guy who just wants to get along with and get the approval of other people
Player movement should not be restricted. My problem with what’s going on now is a) the crowdsourcing of NIL instead of the schools themselves paying for it and b) the predatory nature of boosters/collectives that are pursuing players who are not in the portal, making grandiose offers that aren’t enforceable in any way because there aren’t contracts. Having the schools pay the players a salary and having contracts for payments to ensure that a) the players get paid what they’re supposed to get paid and b) makes it possible to lessen tampering with non-portaled players and punish schools/people tampering with players under contract and not in the portal would be great. Maybe have schools pay transfer fees to schools/conferences if they want to pursue a player under contract who is in the portal. Nothing that punishes a player for leaving for whatever reason but something that makes schools/collectives pause before trying to raid rosters from other schools. Not sure what the exact solution is but players should profit from their labor and we need to find ways to make it more difficult and dissuade bad actors from exploiting the players or the sport in general.
I agree something needs to be done about the collectives which seem sketchy as hell and often predatory
Jaden Rashada is the big one that comes to mind, where he was promised a fee to attend Florida, signed a letter of intent then had to go through the process of getting out of it. He did, but that’s a huge pain in the ass he shouldn’t have to deal with, not to mention that he might have been able to get a better, real offer than what he actually did. I don’t know how prevalent it is, but the present environment is ripe for that type of exploitation.
Gervon Dexter I think was suing someone because his nil deal contained language that they had a right to future NFL earnings
irony is dead. dblplay1212 is notoriously known for going along with TMB group think. lol you guys have lost the plot
idk if it’s true but the rumor with Moore was that it was tied to performance which he obviously didn’t live up to
He disagreed with the unanimous and mandated opinion in the Bama thread, clearly he is a victim of groupthink
Dbl is has the (justified) reputation on here for arguing the most ridiculous things on here. He will argue for pages for no reason.
I know dblplay1212, and he is no group thinker. He would ignore a group of rabbis explaining to him why his thoughts on the Talmud are wrong.
Players need/deserve representation when negotiating NIL deals, and there needs to be a regulatory framework and certification process for that representation. That’s a pretty easy fix to the exploitation argument.
Last year Feeze took a commitment from 3 kids(J. Burnette, J. Lewis, M. Collins) and decided to give their spot to someone else after reevaluating. We haven't even really touched on recruiting yet. If a coach can do that, then why are we so worried about restricting what players can do with negotiating NIL, visits, etc? The top P5 coaches doing the most crying don't even have to recruit the middle or bottom of their board anymore. If they aren't ready to take a commitment from them, they probably aren't investing much time. Since they have bigger staffs and more time, they actively recruit other teams players/commits instead.
Idk what’s so funny, I keep the results of mine on a plaque between my framed Daniel Moore and my Shelton State degree.
Tell me about.... Blindly dismissing everyone's clear arguments that a coach for your school is clearly incorrect and a massive hypocrite and not thinking for yourself.
