Good to have that confirmed. Part of my business is credit card processing so i was going to whittle him down and then get a cash price on top of it. As I type this, I feel both terrible and like one of my clients...
Bought this watch a few year ago, Seiko Auto Diver - can't stand the band anymore. Anyone have any band rec's with this watch or similar? http://www.amazon.com/Seiko-SKX009K...im_241_23?ie=UTF8&refRID=1EKT1FDWSF37Z3P3GKEA
May have the Breitling Super Avenger I've been looking at soon. Made an offer at the AD in Greenville and they told me they'd call if they can do it. I don't think they'll do what I asked but they didn't say no and if they come close I'll take it. Didn't ask for a discount just an extra bracelet and strap thrown in. Strap is somehow a good bit more $ than the bracelet.
Natos are so cheap, you can get a few bad change it up. I'd get a leather nato. By golly those are comfortable
ebay and get a few for under $20. The springs on the Seiko's are easy to work with. Grab a watch tool too.
So $3,300 cash offer on a $4,400 watch is totally fair. They make $1,000 +\- and I get the watch I want. Thanks.
Regarding that watch I posted above, does it seem like a decent deal for $1200? Here's the description: The Pontchartrain timepiece as designed by the Detroit Watch Company. Polished 39mm case. Automatic self-winding Swiss movement with seconds subdial and date window. Crown with black and silver Detroit Fleur-de-Lys. Arabic numerals. The design features an exhibition caseback with a decorated blue rotor that emphasizes the engraved Detroit Watch Company logo and depicts the waves of the Detroit River. Calfskin leather band with deployment buckle. Limited to only 50 numbered pieces. You may reserve a specific serial number when ordering based on availability. Specifications Swiss Automatic Movement Self-Winding Swiss Caliber Sellita SW260-1 Date Calendar 28800 Vibrations Per Hour 38 hour power reserve 31 Jewels 39 mm Diameter 12 mm overall height Sapphire Crystal with Anti-reflective coating Exhibition back with sapphire crystal. Water Resistant 5 ATM
That's really hard to assess. It has the internals that you'd expect out of a nice watch. You can find those same elements (swiss auto movement, sapphire, exhibition back, etc.) in cheaper and more expensive pieces. At that price, you're either paying more for exclusivity or name recognition. That's up to you whether that premium is worth it, or if you'd want to go up or down.
Seiko's are the best value automatic diver you can find. Mine is from 1987 and has been modded and finished in cerakote. I wear it on a leather or camo zulu. I'm likely getting that pepsi or the black ringed diver next month.
Sellita movements are essentially ETA clones... So should be reliable & just as accurate. Baume & Mercier use them as well
I'd say those Seikos aren't thick at all but then again I like pretty large watches. Not many autos are super thin due to the movement but it isn't an overly thick watch. I have to for nostalgia buy another Seiko Monster. Absolutely loved that watch once I put it on the right bracelet
Ehh I wouldn't call it fair. But of course I am looking at it from another end. But you probably can get them to come off 25%.
dream watch currently...obviously if someone offered me an omega or something for the exac same price as this I'd most likely go for the other one, but just love the style.
Figured i'd post this here. I saw some pictures of watch holders that I liked and decided to make this yesterday. I installed it in my closet and it turned out exactly how I wanted. Very happy.
Ordered the wife the Tudor Glamour 36mm Date with silver-diamond face & she's now on the clock... I can't lose from my options: Nomos Metro Datum 38 Omega Speedmaster Professional Tudor Black Bay Black I want the Nomos badly, but she's itching to get me the Moon Watch.
This Citizen is my daily wearer. I switch out different Nato straps; right now I'm using a navy one with white stripe. This Omega is my grail watch:
My daily wear. Wife got it for me on my birthday. I have some nato straps for it but really love the leather it came with
Looking for beater dive watch to replace my 15+ year old citizen that is the worse for wear... I'm down to 3 options: What say you? Spoiler Big fan of the cushion cases on these 2 1 - Prospex: Steel Bracelet 2 - Prospex: Silicone Strap 3 - Could also go with the Seiko Black Monster, but my twig-wrist might break under it's heft
Thanks! I was leaning silicone strap, as that is what I'll be replacing... love the cushion "turtle" casing
Man that is really sexy. I have a Seiko Diver (Pepsi), never wear it. I'd take the black one in a heartbeat with the silicone band.
I have this watch in the black and blue, and a few others at 50% off. Both are 40% off. DM for more details. https://shop-us.tagheuer.com/en/grande-date-chronograph-43-mm-can1010-ba0821.html
I'm wearing my WCT 5513 a lot these days, and now that it's more of a daily wearer part of me really wishes it had a date feature. Purchased 4 years ago as my first automatic.
http://www.businessinsider.com/watches-wall-street-2016-3 Billionaires wearing Timex and GShock pieces all the way up to a decent family's annual salary on their wrist.
If budget wasn't a factor, I probably would have gone with the Suunto Armbit3 Peak for the multi-sport/hiking applications... couldn't justify the $400+ price tag for what will be essentially a running watch. The Forerunner 230 had everything I needed, as I'll primarily be using it to pace/log my runs. They didn't have it in stock locally, so I splurged & got the 235 with the built-in heart rate monitor.
I absolutely love it. The native wrist HR monitor works as well as a chest strap monitor. Battery life is insanely good. I charge mine about once a week. Most of my runs are on a treadmill, so I don't use the GPS a ton... It's on my wrist most days, not just for workouts. I have Bluetooth, Sleep Tracker & HR monitor going 24/7. Syncs seamlessly to my phone & GPS is almost instant. If mine was destroyed, I'd buy another without hesitation.
How are you digging the new oyster bracelet? Think I'm going to pull the trigger on the black one soon.
