I'm curious now, after doing a dive & actually think that's a Franken watch... the GMT hand is throwing me
Greybeard I'm 99.9998% certain that isn't an authentic piece. So far as I can find, they never made a GMT version. On the bright side, there seems to be a huge community that are fans of the 6000 series, and plenty of authentic pieces out there, if you are inclined.
Jorts- Very, very cool. Thank you so much for the deep dive! Now I've got a lot of reading to do lol. This one appealed due to size and the Tag name. I will probably still go look again. Now I'm more curious, lol. Edit- Handset almost looks like 1500 series, and the GMT would have a 24 hour bezel, not a 60 minute timer bezel. Hmmm... I now know more about these then I ever thought I would lol.
Has anybody gotten the pink dial Tudor ITT? Buddy just got one with no Tudor purchase history so not sure what production ended up being
My AD had one on that he recently bought for his granddaughter to give her when she turns 18. Not sure how hard they are to get.
My understanding, is pretty impossible… They are selling secondary for way more than the Tiffany OP, mid-Covid
Yeah I don't believe my buddy that he actually got one from a Tudor boutique with no purchase history, but don't know why he'd lie. He has extensive Rolex history, but not sure it matters
Maybe the supply finally caught up with demand. Similar scenario with the Marine National & BB58 when they released… just not with the 3-4x secondary markup the Miami FC model
Anybody in here use a step tracker? I enjoy using one but don't want to give up wearing my watch and feel dumb with something on both wrists. Is something like the Oura ring the only real solution to that?
Whoop isn’t terrible, but it’s a minimum year long commitment initially unless something has changed. I wore mine for 3 months or so but I felt like I just used it for tracking my sleep/recovery and never got that high…although maybe I should try it now after losing 40lbs. I found with the health app in iPhone it works well enough, but I counted in my head steps to finish my walk. I counted like 560 but then the update was under that. I took 17000 steps on that walk so it’s hard to count all those for accuracy.
Garmin Vivoactive 4, once or twice a week to keep an eye on steps. You can play around with faces, different monitors, etc.
I wish I possessed the level of expendable cash to justify purchasing this on a whim https://www.saksfifthavenue.com/pro...fer=NPLA_GGL_Shopping&country=US¤cy=USD
Current plan is to go the used route with omega speed master 39. Just going to let someone else eat the depreciation.
Guy selling claims that is basically his wrist size and it fits him well. If their lettering looked better I’d want a darker dialed version
Refurbishment on my old Rolex just floored me. About $6K on a watch that probably isn't worth that if I tried to sell it.
Yeah, I believe the watch is in Dallas right now? They recommended the bracelet be replaced which was the majority of the cost ($3,895). The watch has sentimental value so I may do the other stuff now and wait on the bracelet. Not sure yet.
Some people prefer individual watch guys to do work as it's cheaper and they don't just swap out all the parts. Rolex Reddit will have recommendations if you wanted that option.
Thanks, I'll check it out. I think I may just go ahead and do the work on this one and find a used datejust or something for everyday wear. The refurbished watch may go into a case and only be for special occasions.
Lost my gold one at a music festival in Copenhagen last month. Was my everyday wear. Now just wearing an old Fitbit to track workouts, yoga sessions, and sleep.
The OG Mayer has dropped from the stupid levels & considering completing the set... Thing shot up to about $1k for a time, with the most recent sale being $400.
