What was the hardest question at the watch interview? "What is your biggest weakness?" A buddy of a buddy had to fly to Switzerland to get some super rare Patek in 2021-2022; crazy
https://www.instagram.com/aaronbespoke?igsh=aXh3cnRqdHl6b3Vl I really love this dude’s work, have my first one on the way. Little higher than your price point but everyone I’ve spoken with raves about his leatherwork.
A friend of mine makes great stuff: https://www.instagram.com/secondlineleather?igsh=MWF3czNyYnVmbnJ3dA==
Went into Vacheron yesterday. And in what is apparently new operating procedure, they let you put down a deposit on the blue Overseas. So I did that and should have it in 18 months or less.
YM titanium today. After reflection- there’s nothing that really excites me from W&W outside of the meteorite Daytona, the Gold Reverso on the bracelet, and the Patek 6196P (should have Breguet numerals though). Maybe the Grand Seiko SLGB001 (if you’re going quartz lean into the hyper-accuracy. Could do without the date window though)
Congrats man - those are tough to come by... What I find surprising that I'm probably most drawn to Cartier's Privé Tank à Guichets
Still no word from Geneva - But, the Wife thinks we're headed up to Boston next weekend so I can pick up my VC, get the Boutique experience & catch a game at Fenway. Surprising her with her "Grail"
Anyone had good luck buying used watches from Bob's? I've always wanted a birth year Rolex and was looking at something like this one. Any advice is appreciated. https://www.bobswatches.com/pre-owned-rolex-datejust-16030-silver-index-dial.html
Very, very doubtful - Wife thinks we're going to pick it up, but the entire trip is setup as a ruse to surprise her with the Alpine Eagle.
they been around forever and have a really good rep. I've sold a few pieces from the shop to them and it was easy and got paid quickly
I got my Omega from them last year and the experience was kind of mixed. Super fast delivery and watch was in great condition. However, there was an issue with the warranty card (it was dated but not stamped, apparently some omega boutiques do this but technically it violates the warranty terms). I called and we discussed sending it back for a different stamped one (nearly identical) but they wanted to charge a (reduced) restocking fee, there was only an extra year on the warranty (beyond the 1 year you get with Bob’s), and the price was $500 lower than most other non-private sellers so I just went ahead with it.
She's currently telling all her friends, family & co-workers that we're going to Boston so I can buy a watch... certainly rolling her eyes & making fun of me - she just doesn't realize it's her watch
Well someone in my house threw away my Hamilton, so that’s fantastic. I do not lose things and always keep it in the same spot. Did some crafts with the kids and had to take it off and leave it on a table. It was gone the next day. Turned the house upside down and went through my trash can twice, almost vomited a few times to no avail.
Killer release. Probably my favorite release of 2025, just wish they did them in SS. (But, I get it.)
My buddies have a great store that can source pretty much anything. If I can make a connection please PM me.
Meanwhile, I’ve been proven wrong. I love this Panerai. 44mm but wears incredibly well. It’s big, but it’s meant to be.
On the list for a datejust with a jubilee bracelet and green (mint) face….can’t wait to not get a call from Brombergs.
It's might just be the angle or lens distortion, but the non-centered date is absolutely wrecking havoc with my OCD
I know watch snobs on socials tend to hate Tissot, but I love my PRX as a daily wear watch. Looking to add to my rotation, now that I have a little bit more of a budget. Really like this Seamaster
