Experiencing pretty intense desire (at a level that typically results in purchase) to add a Black Bay or Pelagos to the collection. Without looking back, anyone have either/both?
I have a Black Bay GMT. It’s nice but I hardly ever wear it after getting my Sub - that and my Speedy get all the wrist time.
I have an older Tudor Black Bay “smiley” and it’s probably my most worn watch. I had a newer Pelagos but had the Lume pip issues that seems to plague these watches. It was covered under warranty at least and I sold it.
If anyone would care to share honest thoughts pro/con re: deployment clasps on NATO straps, I'd appreciate it. Anchor is all over my feed for some reason and they look pretty nice..
I should get a Grand Seiko SBGM221…right? Don’t love the lack of WR or lume but trying it on today was incredible and really fits in the current collection. AD was willing to eat the sales tax too.
Probably my favorite singular watch for the price But I also wear my grand Seiko as my daily so I'm biased
That's awesome. Still (eventually) eyeing a polar Explorer II which probably steps on some of that watch's territory or else I'd strongly consider some of their sport offerings. Obviously am a fan of the MSU color scheme too.
Not to keep beating the drum but it's also really flexible https://www.reddit.com/r/Watches/s/vaLbjTVwOd
Just sat at the airport bar with a dude wearing a Nautilus 5726. I complimented it, and he started showing me the other watches he had on his person. The highlight: He also had a Comex Submariner.
The Royal Oak has grown on me. I am strongly considering adding one for my 45th birthday. They look incredible in gold too.
This is a weird need, but I'm searching for a shorter length leather strap with a 17mm lug width for Mrs. Tamland. It's proven to be a tough combination to find. Does anyone have ideas? I'll likely have one custom-made for her birthday in the fall, but I need something in the short term.
i went to an AP store in tokyo and asked about one they said they no longer even bother to keep a list going for them and haven't since 2019
I can't imagine anyone is walking in and getting a stainless Royal Oak at retail. They're commanding at least a $10k premium on the secondary.
I stand corrected. My buddy in Vegas just replied, "totally, very possible at retail... long wait but possible."
