Hey guys. I just got a g-shock for my birthday but I don’t love the band. What are some options you would suggest? I’ve been looking at the Velcro and nylon bands. I’ve got an above-average wrist so I’m not sure which direction to go for comfort, style, fit. any recs would be appreciated. it’s the G-Shock “GBD-800”
Woke up to a flat tire so decided to break out my early Father’s Day gift I know it doesn’t compare to what you guys wear but i like to stay in my lane and this is my price point
Does anyone own a Marathon? Was looking for a watch I could use as a true rough and tumble and came across this diver. I found discussions in this thread and have the same questions around case depth and sizing https://www.marathonwatch.com/colle...tic-gsar-anthracite-black-colored-straps-41mm
There’s a lot to unpack there… next time you do it, I’m gonna retaliate with a bunch of On Cloud sneakers
Requested the BB54 Lagoon from my AD - Wife "needs" a fun, travel watch & this checks the boxes Spoiler: Pics this time
would anyone in this thread have interest in a wolf triple watch winder? pretty sure it's this model: https://www.wolf1834.com/us/triple-winder-with-storage?color=85 i've decided to go with a watch roll and eventually a watch box for storage as i now have 4 important watches. i don't have moonphase watches or any complications more advanced than a date function so i don't think i need to keep mine wound all the time and i live in a small studio apartment and think the winder takes up too much space. can send a video of the winders all running if interested. Spoiler forgive the dust...
It took me about 18 months to get one at retail, so long, but not impossible for sure (I think I was probably about average length). Here's about what I did: -Long meeting with the AD where they take a ton of notes on why you want one, etc. They're basically trying to see if you're a risk to flip a watch, or on the positive side, might buy multiple over time -2 more visits over a 9-month period -Offered an Offshore I had zero interest in that's like $80k retail, but sells in the after-market for ~$125k. I have heard this is a 'test' to see if you're just a flipper. Said no -Offered the Offshore that was top of my list one month later - bought it -2 more visits over 6-months (wearing the watch) -Offered a stainless steel 41 Royal Oak and bought it Stainless steel Royal Oak has to be your second watch (Offshore or Code 11.59 first). Gold is third watch (need a stainless steel RO before gold RO). If you just want the RO, would probably just buy secondary. They like "stories" of why the watch would be special to you, so if you want one for a milestone birthday, would stress that. I probably went in once a quarter for 18 months, so I'm not sure what one would do if they don't live close to a boutique (she told me at one time that there was a couple hundred people on the list and they get like a couple dozen a year - who knows how true this is but you have to really make them feel like its special to you)
