Any reason you wouldn’t take your watch into a sauna? Water resistance is water resistance, no reason heat/humidity would affect that rating?
Yea apparently it's a major issue to bring most watches into the sauna. https://www.quora.com/Is-a-water-resistant-watch-suitable-for-wearing-in-a-sauna
100% on the get what you prefer point. What’s the structure bracelet? Don’t know what that means besides hearing that to get one to be personal it’s only like $250.
Went ahead and put my name on my AD’s list for a Tudor BB GMT S&G, a GMT Master II Batman, and an Explorer II Polar. Assuming the BB GMT will come up relatively quickly and I’ll grab it and wait for whichever of the other two comes up next. Until then I continue to rock a SKX007 with black dial and bezel and jubilee bracelet which causes people to routinely inquire “is that a Rolex?”
They did not have one on display, but I’ve seen pictures. I think it’s beautifully designed (I think Tudor just does a great job with classic looks), but I’m looking for something more distinct than what I’ve had on my wrist the last 5 years or so.
You have to see that second dial in person. When you do, you’ll know for certain one way or the other. They’re both gorgeous though. And yes, I’m completely aware that this reply was of zero help
Agreed. The first one is easy enough to see and have an opinion on. Not sure how hard it’ll be to find a dealer with the second one.
I think the champagne fluted dial is pretty available. I’ve seen 2-3 around my area (for sale) in the past 6 months.
https://www.jswatch.com/gilbert-vintage-watches Good looking watches. Around $2,500, but not sure which Swiss movement they’re using.
God forbid anyone tries to design a watch or create something new. Sorry, guess you’re going to have to design your own movement from the ground up or be a MNC…
It's retread design that's a dime a dozen. Let's slap a city/country name, brand it "local" & charge 10x markup. Boring... it's not anything cutting edge or new. It's lazy & boring. The brand posted makes buying Shinola retail look like a bargain.
It looks like an ETA 2824-2 with the date at 6 o'clock. The movement can be purchase for under $200 retail. There are a few micro brands that put out good stuff. This doesn't happen to be one of them & an example of what I hate. It's a fucking money grab
Not giving you shit... the watch doesn't look bad. But, you would never make that purchase without an 80% discount off retail.
It really just gave me the thought to go look at Tissot again and remember how much I like some of their models. Still wear my gold-tone quartz PDX several times a week.
Watched roughly a million YouTube videos and didn’t end up liking the fluted dial version as much. Officially on the list for this one and should get it in a few months.
Was on the way to get a haircut earlier, stop by one Bucherer and no luck. Stopped by the new flagship and…
If you go used, you can prob get one around $4-5K if it’s the previous generation 1861/3 movements (with the big box). The new ones will run full retail, maybe a 5% discount if you’re lucky.
Oh my….I thought I knew what I wanted but my mind gets changed once a week. Need to stop lurking in this thread.
Unpopular opinion: Old Speedy >>>>> New Speedy Spoiler Aesthetically speaking. Movement upgrade is massive, but I did not like the bracelet on wrist compared to mine
If I regularly wore a watch on a leather strap, I would buy this in a heartbeat. It’s even better looking in-person.
