The perfect addition to the collection, if you’re looking to strap your timepiece outside a submarine
Luminox arrived today. Went with the none-white numerals mainly because I lean towards black and white too often…like the other watch I picked up.
For some reason I’ve always been drawn to second hands. Actually returned my first Tissot because of it. Love this one. Feels great and light on my wrist, prefer lighter watches. Spoiler no reason to make fun because Alpina is owned by citizen.
Would be more interesting if collaborating companies/people didn't pick the worst G-Shock model (I'm looking at you John Mayer)
Basically. Supreme can often times be overly gaudy, which is weird bc their popular stuff is their simplest stuff.
Chocolate dial? Or something else? I'll likely buy this one in the next few years. Have a few more I'd like to get first.
Found out one of my coworker’s husband is a huge watch guy and by in-turn she knows a lot as well so we spent a couple hours talking watches. Thought this was kind of cool. She has two kids like 11/13 and her husband already bought them some hamilton’s for their 18th birthdays. Also in my journey to get away from smart watches I did another rookie thing and bought my first seiko last night. Unless I buy a Vostok or hopefully not an orient my next purchase will be an iwc or omega…unless I reverse field and get a laco.
I refuse to wear a smart watch. Ordered a whoop band today as work will reimburse for recording 5 “activities” a month. Where do y’all place it?
Only places are either on your opposite wrist or around your bicep. Have to buy the bicep band separate.
Like it way better in photos than in person but still like it. also was at my parents house, found this in my dads watch drawer, was my mothers wedding gift to him. Kind of want to get it “restored” and find a special strap for it, super tiny in person.
I haven’t worn a watch in 15-20 years since my high school Fossil and decided to get a couple to start wearing again. The wife is getting me this one for Christmas as an everyday beater for work and around the property: https://www.citizenwatch.com/us/en/...Ko7ctgmQ8MiE1v0PZcs6Th9EnKId-KxAaAlNqEALw_wcB I decided to get this one as an entry-level automatic that is a little dressier (no need for a formal watch as we live in BFE SC): https://www.jomashop.com/tissot-wat...vkmCw_MlR9SNkJomOOaq-JRwCz538RlEaAju-EALw_wcB With Black Friday deals, I’m pretty happy to get out under $450 total for both, and I like that they’re a little different than what I see most folks wearing.
Welcome! Very cool. If you have a Hamilton or Tissot (or Citizen) dealer near you, definitely worth popping in. So much of this is personal taste. Hamilton and Seiko are the dominant players in the sub $500 market. Specific to your Jomas Shop link, check out their Hamilton offerings, specifically the Field Khakis on sale: These are mechanical (hand wound) watches at the lower price points, or automatic (self wound) for a bit more. Citizen’s utilize their Eco-Drive technology, which pairs a battery with solar re-charging. The Eco-Drives still “tick” like a quartz watch does rather than “sweep” like an automatic. It’s small watch-nerd bullshit, so buy what you want, but I wouldn’t buy another Citizen (though it was one of my earlier watches.)
Thanks for the heads up. I looked at the Hamiltons but didn’t want to have to hand-wind it. I love the look of their field watches, but didn’t want to spend for an automatic there yet as I’m cheap. The quartz movement doesn’t bother me at the price point ($130) for the Citizen field watch, and I’m a fan of the green dial. I ended up watching dozens of videos before going with these as I need out on the mechanical stuff too.
Great selections Clemson327 & welcome to the club My 2-cents: Having to hand-wind a timepiece is perhaps one of the best ways to begin your day & greatly contributes to my enjoyment of a piece
Nice pulls, don’t forget to pick up your “casioak” gshock. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=casioak&...fix=casioak,aps,195&ref=nb_sb_ss_ts-doa-p_1_7
$8,800 for a full kit 2 line no-date. Surprised the market has dipped this low. Easily my favorite submariner dial layout.
My brother is starting to get interested in watches. He apparently has great taste and showed me this, stating that he wants a nice watch to wear with suits: I know he wants an automatic or self-wind watch on brown alligator, so I've boiled it down to these three to start him off (as a Christmas gift.) What's your vote, A B or C? Spoiler: Orients A - Orient Bambino v2, Creme dial B - Orient Bambino Open Heart, gold tone C - Orient Bambino Open Hear, stainless
