Why Orient, versus Tissot, at that price-point? Feel like you get more bang for your buck with Tissot Just did a quick look-up, but this seemed to be a pretty solid deal: https://www.jomashop.com/tissot-le-locle-automatic-black-dial-mens-watch-t006-428-11-052-00.html#
I could get him into the quartz variant of this for $275 (may be able to find him something on r/watchexchange)
I just bring myself to like orient. For entry level, seiko is coke, citizen is Pepsi, orient is RC cola. Why would you want RC cola?
Feel like Hamilton and Tissot are a step above the others (or maybe that’s me giving too much credit for them being Swiss). Seiko and Orient kinda sorta being owned by the same company always felt so strange as they really do occupy similar markets. I’ve owned both watches and the faux-British/euro logo that orient has has always felt like it’s trying a little too hard. Seiko knows what it is and embraces it.
Love that. Jomashop has the visodate powermatic 80 black dial silver accents for $456. Just love the two logos they use.
It comes on a bronze or whatever bracelet too right? Pretty sure that's the watch I saw with great patina and was like whoa.
So Rolex AD's are going to be selling used watches certified by Rolex now? How is that going to work? Are they going to be selling used watches at a higher price than new? That looks really dumb in store.
My Tissot arrived yesterday, and I’m a fan. I haven’t worn a watch for a couple decades, and I didn’t go try any on so I was a little worried about the 41mm case and thin bezel. The dial is a little lighter than I expected which I think actually looks even better. Spoiler
Still haven’t decided on a watch for my brother. He’s short, 5’5” so I’m leaning towards 36s. Found this listing, leaning towards the gold plated one. This seller is very active and reliable on r/watchexchange
Do you know anything about the sizing? He refers to one as “32mm, 35mm with the crown.” No way it’s 32mm, right?
