Omega will come down from the $7.9k list price too if you like this: https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/...co-axial-chronometer-gmt-43-mm-23110432201001
Last watch I'll post but saw this and dig it. Not related to my questions earlier and hypocritical as it's a vintage Newman Chrono homage but looks real nice and isn't 400k https://calibre321.com/2023/08/04/off-the-cuff-longines-conquest-2023-automatic-chronograph/
Lyrtch This is what you’re looking for. You’ll have to purchase used but both are approx $4K and the best value for GMT options which are low-key. Jorts will confirm I’m the GMT authority you’ve been waiting for an answer from, even though he didn’t tag me.
Few other options: for big bois: JLC master compressor GMT https://www.watchuseek.com/threads/...-master-compressor-in-canada-reduced.5517197/ Panerai: https://www.watchuseek.com/threads/...-dial-steel-full-set-pam00329-pam329.5527479/ others: nomos Zurich (actually a GMT (not a world time)) https://www.jomashop.com/nomos-watch-807.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=(ROI) DSAutm_id=187169530&utm_content=141201200804&utm_term=&gclid=Cj0KCQiAuqKqBhDxARIsAFZELmKx8OvmJFlIYyVRjg3txP_ck71__meQd32O8Xw60I1jSbqGhSYJl2caAnLaEALw_wcB oak and Oscar (titanium) https://oakandoscar.com/pages/the-humboldt-gmt-titanium
How do you guys feel about buying on ebay? I've had some decent success with r/watchexchange but you can always get screwed there. The watch I want is significantly cheaper on the gray market.
Believe eBay has an authenticity guarantee now where they ship it to location to verify authentic then ship to you. I purchased a watch on eBay and had no problem at all. It was a Tudor, as well. With that being said, obviously do your research on the seller (check rating and feedback). Send them messages etc. about any questions you may have on the watch.
100% this. Recently made a purchase on eBay, had a ton of questions for the seller who promptly provided detailed answers and additional pictures. Felt very comfortable, went through the authentication process and all that. Also had the watch appraised for insurance after I received it. Great experience.
Never did I ever think that I'd pay a premium for a quartz watch, but Cartier is different... At least that's how I'm justifying it
That's a work of art. I don't know what it is, but I prefer leather or rubber straps over stainless bracelets virtually always. I think growing up in the era where everybody had a stainless Fossil sortve muddied my view of them
Anyone have a newish speedmaster? I was thinking about the Tudor chrono but leaning towards a speedmaster. Didn't know thoughts about sapphire vs. hesalite. Hesalites can be had new-newish for about 5-5500.
Yes I have one that’s like 2 years old in hesalite. Like it a lot. Only thing I don’t love is having to wind it.
Hesalite here as well, although my favorite part is winding mine. I love the daily interaction & it’s the one piece I’ll never sell. If you’re concerned about wear & tear, mine was a daily wear for a few years… I was paranoid prior to purchase & immediately afterwards. All for naught, and have zero concerns in any scenario (apart from swimming) now.
Hesalite as well. Unless you’re a monster, you’ll be fine. Added benefit is that it looks good on bracelet, strap, leather, nato, rubber so you essentially have multiple watches.
still haven't decided fully for myself on what gmt i'm getting but probably getting this for a friend who would never buy one for himself https://www.crownandbuckle.com/chevron-noble-bleu-argent.html then throw that on it as he rarely would want it on the bracelet
They are quality, but the Chevron are my least favorite… the placement of the keeper is off on that model
My preference are the single pass Natos, especially for a diver. They make either the Supreme or Premium in that variant.
https://www.crownandbuckle.com/matte-supreme-nato-22mm-slate-black.html https://www.crownandbuckle.com/supreme-nato-22mm-black-grey.html looking at these two now, can't do chevron adjustable anyways as wrist size > 8 inches
https://www.jomashop.com/frederique-constant-watch-312v4s4.html that's a crazy deal. would buy for the wife as she loves the heartbeat dial.
