Just modifying a Seiko, with aftermarket parts - similar to Jeep Wrangler owners tinkering… some cool, some not-so-much
Generally an aftermarket case, dial, and handset assembled with a Seiko movement to achieve a desired look or homage like a Submariner.
Fuck yeah. Now slide it a touch farther up your wrist so it’s on the other side of that boney prominence. Sorry, I’ll die on this hill.
I’m so glad my wife wasn’t paying attention, when they went over how to remove the links quickly, so she can wear it… otherwise mine would probably be banged up to hell already
my wife said she definitely wants to wear it as well. Bought her a Panthere to surprise her for her 40th.
Yeah I've seen comments on it scratching easily. However, watches are meant to be worn so if it scratches up it scratches up.
I worried about that, as I read the same — but haven’t actually experienced this & it’s been my most worn piece since I grabbed it in September. * The Hesalite crystal on my Speedy, is equally unblemished, after almost 5 years
Interested in your take on the green leather strap... Initially I thought I'd never swap it out, but it's grown on me. -oh shit, can't tell if yours is blue or green from the pic.
Got a Wolf three spot winder Black Friday. Seems nice enough. Only had cheap ones previous. Time will tell on quality. I like that this can use batteries although it’s plugged in for now
unfortunately, all of the nicer watch boxes are also pretty much considered pieces of shit mechanically. and i have a wolf 3-watch winder. you can sometimes find them used for a better deal than what they go for at retail. otherwise, you could go for a high-end watch roll: https://www.bennettwinch.com/collections/the-watch-roll/products/watch-roll-leather-black
I have a box with 2 winders that hold 2 watches each with a bottom row of empty slots for any additional. One of the winders decided to stop working while the other keeps pumping along. Have used it since 2018. I have a world timer and moon phase that are pain in the asses to set so if I were to go to a non winder box to accommodate a potentially needed storage space increase, I’d have to get 2 singular winders just for those because getting a new box with winders isn’t worth the cost every so often
Anyone use or familiar with bezel for buying or selling? I have a couple pieces I was thinking of selling but wasn’t sure how or where so I’m considering their site.
Reddit.com/r/WatchExchange handles a massive volume of watches in most price ranges, but likely not the best for top dollar or high value items. Watchuseek forums are another popular site, though I have no experience with them. Chrono24 is what it is. They offer the buyer benefit of escrow and incur big time fees for the seller.
Yeah I know there’s forums but without experience I didn’t want to worry about that. I didn’t mind a site that handled things.
I do see why you guys like these. Nice bracelet and the green is very interesting depending on the light.
Ordered the new 5 link jubilee bracelet that comes on this watch https://www.tudorwatch.com/en/watches/black-bay-chrono/m79360b-0002 for my Tudor GMT. Really comfortable and it has T-fit adjustment.
Got a very nice deal on this Khaki Field King. Love the dial and day/date complication. Going to wear the stock strap for a while while I debate other options.
Also bought a replacement bracelet for my SKX007 from Uncle Straps and while it felt and looked like a huge upgrade over the Seiko bracelet, it inexplicably fell apart after about 7-8 wears. I emailed their support and the owner replied within 20 minutes and said they’d send out a replacement.
Love it, have the black dial version. Great on tons of straps, NATOs, rubber, leather, whatever. Congrats.
30% “annual sale” - is exactly why I wouldn’t touch their stuff, regardless of specs. Reeks of desperation
I don’t think they are cool, at all… but maybe diminishing the brand this way is better than selling them at Nordstrom Rack as Shinola does
I’ll lean in — 1. Everyone buy what you like. 2. I’ll forever hate the brand, and others like it. If given the option, I’d wear or complement a $12 Casio before anything in their catalog
I purchased a small tank for my wife. Looking forward to posting the comical wrist shot of me wearing it after it arrives.
