Yeah, I assume a much — but MING appears to be levels above Farer. Really love their aesthetic (Farer’s too, just different)
For sure. Different market segments, but similar in that so many of us seem to love them without owning them.
The Fifty Fathoms are just about all 45mm+... or I'd own one. The only models I've seen released in the last several years that are 42mm were limited release & unattainable.
They sold out… quickly. edit - I’m dumb, they launched this as a limited edition, but not a set number of pieces, just ‘however many we can sell in 12hrs’
This was my wedding present, the 16570 is 40mm vs the newer at 42. You rarely, if ever, see it out in the wild on another wrist. I absolutely love it.
Pretty much same thing happened to me… got a surprise package after I forgot about a drunken online purchase last weekend.
AD called and left me a voicemail at like 1:30. I figured he was calling on something else I ordered. At 2, he told me that he had a white Daytona for me. I left my office by roughly 2:01 lol
Reminds me when I called Total Wine in Tampa in 2012 and asked when they were getting Pappy in. Guy told me they were actually unloading it off the truck at that very moment. I don’t think I ever got out of my office faster.
I just took a doctor’s deposition, and I noticed a silver Daytona slip out from his sleeve. I commented on it after we were done, and he said his wife gave it to him for his 40th birthday, 20 years ago tomorrow. He has a pretty big collection, but that’s his daily driver. It turned into about a half hour conversation.

Random vintage watch collection post on Reddit sent me down a wormhole and Tissot has made some badass vintage pieces.
I’m almost certain I successfully convinced my wife to order me a blue dial 300M or Planet Ocean for valentines.
Black dial Daytona is my new last Rolex piece, so that'll be a few years. I'm genuinely good for a while. I could see adding a 36mm yellow gold day date for my 45th or 50th though.
Thoughts on the mint green 41mm datejust. Looking at one with a jubilee bracelet. Wife likes the mint better while I am more of the blue face.
