Wife wanted to do something for our 10 year, and it was... shockingly... her idea to get watches. Santos incoming, and I didn't even have to ask.
I still can’t figure out if I like it or hate it. Everytime I saw it last night I was so distracted by it.
I don’t typically wear real watches when I’m with my customers, but I had to make an exception for today.
it's so horrendous that i'm getting more upset the more i think about it. it's gigantic; it doesn't work with the professional business suit and attire he's wearing; it's really no different from wearing an iced out chain. it's ugly. the watch itself is not interesting. it's just expensive. it's no different from some sheik asshole with a gold-plated car or something.
Holy shit it worked. Gave a few options, this is what she chose. Love it. Fits well in the collection. Having a hard time getting a good picture.
BrickTamland and portlandspartan Gat damn yall making me want to buy a nice watch. Beautiful watches. And Tom's watch is absolutely horrendous. Just straight up gross.
I’ve barely taken this off in the past 8d, just briefly to rock my iggles green OP and a night with the BB58.
where'd you get it again? i'm actually thinking of trading my sub + daytona for two GMTs: yours plus a sprite. i think i've decided that the GMT is my favorite Rolex watch and I'm entirely comfortable having multiple versions.
Why do you think i'd regret it? I'm not 100% convinced I'll do this but I did send out some inquiries today to dealers who I've worked with in the past. To me, it's sort of derivative to say that multiple GMTs are duplicative but that a Sub, GMT, and Daytona are not. They're each rolex sports watches in stainless. and there definitely isn't a shortage of Subs or Daytonas where they'd be impossible to acquire again. Personally, I rarely wear the Daytona because it feels a bit gaudy just in terms of it being my most expensive watch (and anyone who knows watches even a little bit knows it).
The GMT is Rolex's best piece IMO. I just think you'll regret having 2 of the same watch, with a slightly different splash of color. There really isn't an occasion where you'd wear one, where you wouldn't the other. Get the one you like most & grab something else - or get a vintage model. I get your feelings on the Daytona - I rarely, if ever wear mine. I got it merely because it was available & at retail, not because I loved it. Unless the wife decides she wants it for herself, I'm likely selling/flipping mine to get a Trinity piece in a few months time.
Anyone know any good stores to check out in London? Looks like in Mayfair there are a ton of boutiques along with watches of Switzerland. Would love to find a place to purchase used/neo vintage. Going next week.
I go back and forth on the 5mm Easylink. Sometimes it's just right and sometimes it's a little loose. Maybe I'm retaining water. Maybe I'm pregnant?
Random watch newbie question - I just grabbed this watch yesterday and the band is roughly the exact size of One Two ’s wrist. How the hell do I adjust this thing so it fits normally? I’ve googled and messed around with sliding watch down but then it creates some silly looking loop.
might be able to find a shorter Nato online ((they are generally pretty cheap), or opt for a 2 piece strap - Try Crown & Buckle
I’ve kept my strap intact. I’ll send you a pic later. You can double it back on itself through the two metal loops.
