Crazy talk in my mind.
I love the stainless steel bracelet style so that skews my judgement.
I’m good with it.
If you like the look go for it.
I have a leather band on an Air King and love it.
Is that a nato strap? I'm not a fan with that Rolex. I have a Seamaster that has a nylon nato strap that changes out with the bracelet, and I never use it. Looks cheap to me.
I can really see how this watch thing can get addicting.
I think the GMT II Pepsi is next on my list. Will hopefully be a little bit more available on the used market by the time I'm ready for it.
And I've done a bit of research into the ceramic bezel and I'm really happy I got one. I think I'd kill myself if I scratched my bezel.
It would be stupid to not put a $20 band on a $15,000 watch.
James Bond had a submariner on a NATO strap.
Wear what you like.
So, this is pretty incredible & likely unattainable... case back
They’re making 7,000 of them? I predict it will trade below retail relatively soon
I heard 1000, but the case back suggests otherwise
Should be relatively easy to get close to release at a boutique.
I actually spoke to them about a month ago & they had all been allocated
How well do Breitling's hold their value? Are they still one of the more popular watches? Thinking about purchasing the watch below at auction, just not sure how high to bid. Not sure if I want to keep, or do a quick flip. Sorry about the size of the pics. Currently the high bidder.
Just bought this one as a beater. Wanted something with a rubber band and black face. In-house movement, sapphire crystal, power reserve indicator for $150 shipped. I've heard such good things about Orient.
What do you guys think on the mesh bracet style watch vs a stainless steel bracelet?
I like it, but I’m Team Seiko for pretty much everything sub $500.
By mesh you mean Milanais? See the1st post in this thread. Get more comments on that watch (due to the bracelet) than any other.
My first post-college watch was this skagen. Loved the mesh (think this is what you’re talking about) but it “frayed” and ended up having sharp points really quickly.
Thank you sir. Yes, it’s similar to your pic.
This Longines heritage diver is likely my next addition.
From what I read you’re not alone, I really just don’t like the look of almost every Seiko.
Check out Dan Henry if you like vintage inspired pieces.
There seems to be some quality control issues with them and cracked crystals. Just FYI
Thinking about making this my next one.
Aqua terra is super comfy on wrist
Good looking Seiko. Would really pop if the second hand were red or something else other than white.
Yeah, I went in to get a Speedmaster and came out with nothing because I was torn
This is gorgeous.
Would look like a can of tuna fish on me :l
Makes sense since the case is taken from the Seiko Tuna.
This is so beautiful
& only gets better with age
visibly scratched crystal? no fucking way i'd buy that.
Didn’t notice :(
I like the Tudor GMT and the black bay 58 that Jorts passed on but at the price point I think I’d rather save for a speedy or seamaster.
What seiko is this?
so i'm looking for a daily wearer and like the seiko autos. the samurai is a nice diver with great lume, but seems too big to wear everyday around the office. probably need something like a sary057. any favorite sub $500 autos i should check out for daily wear?
I really like my SKX007 (pic from google images)
It’s on the smaller side of divers (I think) which works for my smaller wrist. I currently have it on a brown leather band, but as you can see it dresses up nicely with a jubilee or sportier with the included black nylon strap or a nato.
This is mine, rut row
Disclaimer - I know I know I know... I’ve been wearing others a bit more
The skx seems like a classic fan favorite. If I went that route I probably wouldn’t be able to resist getting a modded version.
This is such a fantastic channel, stumbled upon it a few months ago.
Anyone have any other channels they really like? YouTube is where I've been acquiring my rudimentary watch knowledge.
Watchbox and Watchbox Reviews are awesome. Tim Mosso is a terrific watch guy.
hodinkee's channel has a 'talking watches' playlist for celebrity watch collections, which is pretty interesting.
