Ban this man
It was tongue in cheek srs
I’ve been very happy with my two Swatch Group purchases. My Tissot Seastar has been incredibly accurate (-9s/week). This Mido has the same modified ETA movement with 80 hour power reserve but is COSC certified which put it over the top for me.
80 hour power reserve
50m water resistance
I love the pop of color, gives it a much less boring traditional look. I was looking at some Longines, but I felt like it was just paying for brand prestige. Strap is hot garbage, but that is to be expected at this price point. I think it was like $770 after tax.
I’ll give you $500
Where do you guys get leather bands/replacements from? I have a movado with a brown alligator band that’s getting some wear on it that I’d like to replace with the same one
I’ve only bought one from them but I love it. Great quality and very comfortable.
They have one that’d be perfect but too dark :(
In case you are wanting something a little more reasonably priced: https://www.bartonwatchbands.com/
Hello I have a problem
Love the bezel
I want a Seamaster 1948 with the small seconds dial so bad
So I’ve heard of many people complain about Jomashop customer service and I figured they were just exaggerating, “how bad could they be?”
The answer: very, very bad.
Went to put on my quartz Tag this morning and the second hand was jumping 5sec at a time. Turns out that’s the low-battery indicator, I think that’s pretty neat.
Any reason to bring it back to the jeweler from whom it was purchased for the battery replacement versus just getting it done as inexpensively as possible elsewhere?
Joma was supposed to contact FedEx and tell them to hold my package at a FedEx location and despite me calling them and having them confirm that they did 3 different times, they did not contact FedEx whatsoever so I received this 3 days later than I should have.
Build is just very high quality, like it will last generations. Love the simplicity of the design and legibility. Was a tough call between the 41mm date only and the 45mm day/date, but I generally like bigger watches but would have preferred to meet in the middle at 43. Oris is such an esteemed brand and I’m happy to own it.
If it’s a dive watch, and you intend to use it in the water… you want to make sure the seal is covered under warranty & is watertight.
Tag’s Service is notoriously atrocious. I sent mine through Auth Dealer, back to Tag for new battery & service. They fucked up my bezel & it took 7 months before the Dealer ultimately stepped in to get it replaced. Up until that point, it was the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced.
Take lots of pics if you send it away.
looks like it can be yours for around $150,000.
I will take two please.
I can watch a tourbillon spin away for hours. Such a beautful feat of engineering.
Any Breitling owners in here?
Really feeling this Avenger Blackbird, just don’t know about it as an investment. (I know how stupid that sounds, but a pre-owned Datejust should hold its value pretty well.)
I have and like but TMBers to good for them ...
Think at the price of the blackbird I’m leaning towards a Black Bay Bronze
BBB going away, so would be the better "investment"
breitlings don’t hold value well.
with that said I own a few.
Anyone have have any good recommendations for leather straps?
My Juggsian research tells me to look into Horween Cordovan. They can vary pretty widely in price between $70-$200.
Anyone have any recs on the lower end of that range?
I have a couple Filson straps I love
HODINKEE shop, as well
Do you have a good link of their stock? Seems to be no one place to look.
I’ve looked at their stock and I’m sure it’s the best of the best. Was just hoping there was maybe better value out there.
Looking for a thinner dress option. A lot of really nice thicker more casual options out there.
Looks like Filson pulled them from their site. Glad I got one.
With watches & leather, you get what you pay for
Ordered a cheap leather strap from Amazon. Can confirm.
Best way to purchase a Speedy Pro?
I did a thing
It's a good thing
Please don't judge me I have a problem
This is your safe space.
(Unless you bought a Breitling, apparently. In that case, may God have mercy on your soul.)
I've done some pretty dumb things during my very brief watch collecting career, but this, this is not one.
Give me a few minutes.
I’m going to guess... Bremont.
What would you guys recommend for an automatic watch around $1000? I was looking at Tudor but they are a little above my budget at this time.
Look at Hamilton’s.
And Seiko, if you want to see some great options on the lower side of your budget.
Maybe a pre-owned Tag? That’s a fun price range, lots of great options.
Save it and buy a speedy in a year.
Tudor Black Bay 41 - $1,800
Bought off Chrono24. Papers dated 8/9/19, bill of sale from AD for $2,500, original strap never worn - still has stickers on it, box, Thing does not have a single scratch on it. Not one.
Dude just lost $700 on a two month rental.
It's fucking beautiful.
Nice! I am toying around with either a BBB or searching for an omega seamaster 1948. Want this watch to be something I can eventually pass on to my 6 year old.
It's really pretty beautiful. I had no idea it was only 11mm thick until the other day when I was looking at the specs. I am going to use it as a slightly sporty dress watch with the option for more casual wear as well.
gorgeous watch. Never seen it worn over a sweater.
Joke's on you I'm just being Teen Wolf for Halloween.
So many micro brands offering value that shames traditional manufacturers. I’m not terribly knowledgeable on all of them, but the one that has impressed me the most by far is Zelos. They can hardly keep anything in stock though.
